Whitlock: "I'm not buying Bo Nix"
"… Sean Payton is a hell of a coach, but I'm not buying Bo Nix."

He's been okay, but not lighting the world on fire.
Sadly, better than #myPenix who is suffering without McGary at tackle and with a retard for a coach.

Payton is killing it in Denver which is a little shocking vs Reid/Patrick and Harbaugh/Herbert.
To be fair to Penix, Nix started day 1 unlike Mike behind a $100 million QB ahead of him day 1 and Nix also has a great HC tutor vs Mike. Where you land is huge, who knows what Patrick becomes if the Jets took him. The franchise is a quarterback killer and it’s taken guys like Darnold a Sark/Kiffin football rehab universe Saban. Look at Baker Mayfield, he couldn’t overcome the Browns/Panthers and gets a rehab with the Niners or Rams offensive guru and now he’s in the MVP conversation. -
Falcons are not a good franchise. They just don’t suck as bad as the Jets and Browns so no one notices

Bo is a mid NFL QB.
-
I don't think you can buy people anymore thanks to our woke culture
-
Yeah, but still not that easy to do. Would you rather have him or Williams or McCarthy?
-
We’ll see what happens with McCarthy this weekend and his phantom ankle injury.
-
Would definitely take Nix of those three
-
I never understood how McCarthy going 9-13 for 112 yards and a TD while handing off 50 times proved he was an NFL franchise QB.
-
I've watched a few games.
I think he's a better than mid but I'm not going to argue the point for 20 posts.
The most over-used critical term for QBs is "system QB". All the 49 er QBs were system QBs, especially Montana, who was the master of the dink and dunk west coast offense. Still an all-timer. Montana could not do what Elway and Marino did but I'm not entirely convinced either of them could do what Montana did.
If you are the undisputed starter at that position for any NFL franchise, you can play. A situation like the Browns, who can't get out of their own way and have limited options is another matter. But typically, if you are starting for a winning team, you're a fucking QB.

Some QBs start out of the gates great as rookies. Others don't.
To go back to Elway/Marino, to me the golden era of NFL QB dudes, Marino was a star right away and Elway struggled a bit.
Nobody should be concluding about Penix until season 3 or so. At that point, even if the franchise is shit, you start to get an idea. And even then, if the O line is shit, then you don't know anything.

There are a couple of top QB’s, 6-8 really good QB’s and a glut of average to above average guys depending on their health of their team, coach, and roster.
Bo Nix is a good QB and has a good team and coach around him. Put him elsewhere and maybe he’s not all that good, but that isn’t the case.
