Fisch had one of the best available OCs available living in Seattle post the NFL season and it’s a crime he didn’t recognize Demond could have flourished under Grubb. What is it with guys like Sark and Fisch, it’s like their ego is so inflated to be the next guru OC and call plays.
And Demond is below average above the neck.

Grubby probably would be better to have than whoever our OC is but he definitely also got some of his magic from Deboer and Penix

How do we know that Demond's perceived shortcomings in brainpower aren't due to subpar coaching?

I assumed the subpar coaching was a given especially on the offensive side. The qb coach also sucks including the play calling by Jeb obviously. Fisch is trying to juggle 3 positions and failing miserably. Head Coach, play caller and lead qb coach and we all know he is micro managing the OC.
#2 also makes bad decisions and he resorts hero ball. Let’s not forget he tossed a gimme int the first drive if the db has hands. That ball had pick 6 written all over it. He is typically running for his life and has no internal clock in his head and it’s a near miracle when he gets the ball out of his hands. How often is he going to his 2nd and 3rd option. Coaching is the number one problem. Demond has arm talent clearly, from the neck up he’s average at best.

I keep noticing this also, particularly when he has an option to go get an easy 5-10 years on the ground in front of him and he basically never does. I don't know if that's a coaching issue or what, but it's not doing a good job of managing the games and situations.
