One important difference: Cig is mid-60s and likely within 8-10 years of retirement, if that long. Another move at his age makes a lot less sense than DeBoer moving to the top job in CFP in his 40s.

Some of you like saying doog when you don't have any basis for your argument. Here's some FACTS. UW offered him 9.4 and he ghosted them and signed with Bama for 10.9. If you think for a second that UW wouldn't have payed him 11 if he asked for it you are delusional. He didn't even respond he was going to Bama long before any of those offers were made.

I believe UW knew perfectly well what Alabama was going to offer. Given that, the $9.4 million offer was unserious and insulting and it's no surprise that he didn't bother to respond.

At the time 7th highest (probably 8th including Riley) salary (fact) for a guy that won games but didnt want to recruit as seen by the 47th ranked class he brought in (fact) seems like a wise starting point for the AD.
Deboer did not go back to him demanding 12 mil or he walks (fact) after signing with Sexton. So if he signed with Sexton but didn't want to use him to make more money then he had an alternative reason (fact).
