Demond at the turn

He's very, very good. I don't think we can say great until we see a great performance against a top tier opponent.

I've been pretty LIPO and we need more Tim to fully assess Demond but I do need to remember he's only started a handful of games and didn't even redshirt and is doing what he is doing. Rutgers isn't a great opponent but we've played endless shittier teams in Husky history and no one has done what he did against them.

He’s really fast, accurate, and doesn’t turn the ball over much.

Warren Moon's breakout greatness game was 1977 USC
Chris Chandler's was 1986 Ohio State
Billy Joe Hobert's was 1991 Nebraska
Marques Tuiasosopo's was 2000 Miami
Michael Penix's was 2023 Oregon
Demond Williams' is ……. ?

Not to doog too hard but Rutgers and Maryland are also not the dreck that you might think of them historically. Seems like all these teams have realized they need to get there football competitive or be at risk of getting left out next time there's a conference shake up
In other words that was a GOOD Rutgers Scarlet (K)nights

Outside of Chandler all those guys played on really, really great teams. Pretty sure this isn’t a great team in 2025. Let’s see if Fish can develop a great one around him before he leaves.
-
No real arguments, but Penix was already very good all of 2022 and had the Oregon game at Autzen. Tui was great in 1999 and had the Stanford 300/200 game with the conference title on the line. If only it weren’t for the UCLA game.
-
Actually I meant to say Penix 2022 vs Oregon.

Rep the Midwest, Baby!

Yeah, this year's Maryland and Rutgers teams feel like your usual Arizona or Cal teams that were in the Pac-10/12 over the years. They have some nice talent and athletes in spots. Could see them win 4-7 games depending on how things go. Neither seemed like a bottom tier Pac team though.
