He had a 5 year deal with a 70% buyout, so assume fUCLA paid 10m to buy him out.
Sure, UCLA saved money paying him compared to Kelly or any other real coach, but they lost all those savings when they effectively paid him close to 15m for 2 seasons of coaching.

And then UCLA, a school which is cheap as shit, is going to pay 10m to buy Fisch out AND pay him 10m a year? AND have the money for NIL & Assistants which Fisch will demand?
If they had money, why'd they hire Deshaun Foster? Or why not use the savings from paying Foster peanuts to actually buy some decent players?

I'm still not sure Fisch is the guy and he went from being tarmac'd at BWI to "ok lets see some more" in a 20 minute span last Saturday. But the fact that 3 outlets which hate our fucking guts are making up rumors about him leaving is a really encouraging sign that he's going to not piss all of us off the rest of the year. Guess we'll find out in the next few weeks.

Johnny boy blew his UCLA audition today. UCLA might make the fatal error and promote Jerry or keep the interim after they finish 5-7. I get why they would, but it rarely turns out well. Dabo is about the only guy I can think of that turned an interim head cheese job and it turned out better than any other hire.

For those bagging on Scheer, he told Wilner and Canzano they were fs when they kept telling everyone the Pac12 was going to stick together. He had people at UA telling him they were heading to Big12 back in early 2023 b/c best deal on table was 20m from ESPN for Pac and B12 was at 30 plus.
Scheer also said last April or May that Fisch's wife hated living in Seattle and was making/doing anything she could to get back down to Tuscon as much as possible.
