Breaking news: Ohio State had good players
Great pod pods. One sticking point. When Deboer left he took players to Bama. Not even our best cause those went to the NFL. Lesser point Belicheks needed UWs players in NC. But you say none or maybe 1 or 2 of UWs players would crack Ohio states starting lineup?
At the risk of doogin I'd say Boston, Taco, Demond, Coleman, Moore, Lane, McLaughlin and maybe Elenius Davis and Willis get significant play time on that team.
Thanks for taking my call appreciate the effort on the pod

It's a good point. We do have guys that would at least play at Ohio State. Your list isn't outrageous dooging outside of Elinneus Davis. I think they haven't loved their CBs in recent years and Prysock had the best game of his career easily and I was shocked to see he might have been in a little skirmish after the game.
Their OL might be really weak for a Buckeye line and may have been bailed out by us having a joke of a pass rush. Possibly RB too. Bo Jackson will be their next guy but he's a true freshman and they usually have 2-3 guys like that.
-
I think Coleman is the best rb in the country so he would absolutely be rb1 getting 20+ touches a game at osu.
-
Off topic, but wtf is going on with Makhi Hughes? We have a solid stable of RBs, but none who's so dominant that Hughes wouldn't even crack the top 4.
You have intel?
-
Maybe USC or TOSU wanted him and Oregon bought him just to keep him off their roster.
In reality I was kinda surprised an AAC RB was so sought after. You never truly know if you’re getting Cam Skattabo or Aaron Dumas who led New Mexico in rushing and thrashed DeBoers Fresno team but couldn’t crack a RB room of Wayne Taulapapa, Cam Davis and Will Nixon at UW before transferring out the next year. Crap shoot unless you’re buying a Judkins type transfer. -
The enthusiasm after this loss is starting to border on the same hype that Sark got after losing at home to LSU.
PS - I didn't listen, in case this exact comment was made on the pod by one of the pods.
-
I’ll be more concerned if we don’t score in the 30’s against Maryland. It’s a big failure to not score a TD, but Ohio State has the best defense in the country. I get that the game was 24-6, but if we scored a TD when it was 1st and goal from the 3 and kicked a FG, the game probably would have gone to the wire.
We had not played anyone, but I don’t think the early season offense was a mirage. We were absolutely shit on the road last year. This week is a big test.
-
I don’t think he’s the best RB in the country, but he’s getting carries no matter what roster he is on.
-
The LSU game actually went through my mind while we were podding, but I never brought it up.
I remember commenting on Dawgman that everyone needed to remember that we lost the LSU game and it was not a victory, and whoa boy, an avalanche of criticism rained down upon me. Even Race Bannon chimed in that I must lead a miserable and pathetic life. (true story)
-
Haha. I dooged on the LSU game man while also understanding that it was far from all roses and I think the bar should have rightfully been much lower back then. We were coming off 0-12 and it was Sarks very very very first game. The 2009 team's previous two home games had been bad losses to losing ASU and UCLA teams.
-
There is a Barstool guy that is a UCLA self-deprecon that predicted Washington would win 9 or 10 games this year based on Jedd's Arizona jump from 2022 to 2023. 5 wins to 10.
You can also compare this season to like a 2015 Petersen year where the wins didn't describe the talent and development that was preparing for 2016.
For your next episode I'm curious if you think that there is any resemblance to this progress at all or if we're just looking at a 6-8 win coach that is just limiting himself on game days, when his talent could be used by a Petersen or DeBoer to accelerate the progress.
Of course, we'd have the Maryland outcome by then and most of this would be answered if we lose.
-
It's right that I think the next 1-3 games will say a lot more. Right now I feel like Jedd is a 9-10-win coach probably at a program like UW most years and could do a little more than that depending on schedule.
-
No matter what people think of the OSU game, UW can't afford any more injuries to key starters.
-
Does Durfee qualify as a key starter?
-
It was Sarky. Both Fisch and Sark are 0 fers in the redzone against notable genius Matt Patricia.
-
Lol. It was Sarky in the sense that Sark scored one more point on that Ohio State defense, with the preseason Heisman favorite at QB and a roster of 5 stars.
-
As @Doogles says to me, "your boy Matt Campbell"
LOL
-
My dad and I left Husky Stadium at halftime and went to the Lake Union Bar and Grill to watch USC vs #1 ranked Oregon
-
I think we talked about it on the pod, but unfortunately I saw that Francisco Villar was reffing the Maryland/Wisconsin game so he's still around. If you watch the highlights you'll see an atrocious call where a Wisconsin player just takes out a Maryland player who made a fair catch call on a punt claiming the guy was blocked into him.
Chris Coyte is the dogshit former Pac-12 official who did the Ohio State game.
-
Joe Gibbs did not win a Super Bowl in round 2 with the Redskins but he did win a playoff game which was more than any other coach under Dan Snyder. Fucking Dan Snyder. May he DIAFF.
Rich Rod also went back to WVU this year.
-
Ouff, imagining a moral victory game.
Hypothetically, the Huskies could have made this game close. Hypothetically.
-
Two weeks ago many here were proclaiming rb.2 is an nfl back … I’ll continue to push back on that because I see zero evidence, he’s an absolute jag.
And someone mentioned Boston on tOSU being decent. Only the best wr room for 5+ years running and Boston is a jag with measurables. He’s officially a doog legend. His greatest claim to fame was being option #5 behind 3 nfl wr’s.
-
Well I think for the record I've been a pretty strong pump the brakes guy on a lot of that stuff. I'll LIPO more with Muhammad. He had a good return right before the half which I forgot about and gave us a good chance to get points. He seems like a guy who is great when he gets a giant lane but not much else.
It's still never completely clicked with me with Boston. It was not a good matchup for him going in though with nothing but freshmen WRs around him and the best safety in America back there to scare UW from throwing at him. I have had concerns about him and Demond not have a connection too. I remember Kearse went from Locker's go-to guy to a guy Keith Price couldn't find and it might have cost him getting drafted.
-
I was Boston's #1 doubter in the off season but I've been pretty impressed. Definitely more concerned that Demond won't throw the ball unless his receivers are wide open. Penix would be chucking jump balls at him 8 times a game and it would work
-
I just checked and DenzellBoston_#1Doubter is still available if you want it
-
I still think Boston is an NFL WR and Mohammed is just a true soph. He looks like a late round NFL guy, more in size & speed than vision / quickness.
Boston would do better if he had Rashid Williams to take a little focus on him. Omari Evans isn't really a #2 WR and Roebuck is still just a true frosh.
I'd like to see DeGraaf involved in the passing game.
-
I feel bad for Boston. I said several times going into the year WR was a big potential issue for UW because they had no one other than him. Not getting another proven decent WR in the portal was a failing. The Texas flunky guy has done things at Syracuse against their best competition and I see a ton of guys who came on our radar in the portal period producing other places. I was hoping Judd would find a Jacob Cowing at UW. Throw in losing Williams and we're relying on 3-star true freshmen.
We don't play anyone with talent like Caleb Downs/Ohio State in the secondary the rest of the way though or at least in that range until Oregon probably though so LIPO.
-
We? completely fucked the dog not signing Jordan Dwyer.
-
I don't think I've listened to one in at least a year. It's more my disgust with sports in general and now being a middling .500 team in the best conference with three legitimate top ten teams (maybe four with Hoosier…but let's wait before we crown them). I've also worked 44/46 days but I have some tim today. Hope there aren't hurt feelings. CS, Bill.
