Interesting idea. Makes sense to push for something like this if you are Northwestern or Purdue and are worried about getting left out of the coming super conference. Michigan or Ohio State would be dumb to sign up for something that tethers them financially and maybe legally to Purdue or northwestern for many years. Unless they get some vastly bigger share of the new revenues or an easy escape outs. Hard to have a firm opinion when there is so much vagueness.

Yep. I’d be leery of all of this honestly. If you know anything about how private equity operates, just watch when the new official Big Ten jersey patch sponsor just happens to also be tied in financially to the same private equity partner and is probably getting that sponsorship at a below market value.
