Not sure what the point is but Ohio State was also killing it prior to this under Tressell too. I can't think of a single thing Ohio State does or has in their foundation that is realistically replicable at the University of Washington in 2025.
They also had a coach who is the best modern coach after Saban who was from their state. Who is the best active coach from the state of Washington?

There's no reason Washington can't be Ohio State.
They have a shit ton of fans subsidizing way too many non revenue sports and are still 1a/1b to Alabama as a football brand that not even LSU and Georgia can touch right now.
One critical thing they have done is stick with that staff and Ryan Day. Many years went by with the Third Base narrative and that Ohio State was wasting talent and not a serious threat. But they stuck with their message if development and buying players from other regions and it's paying off in a big way for them. They're so much better off than Michigan right now..

It's one thing to knock your coach for losing in the playoffs like Day was doing. You wouldn't actually fire him you'd just complain because losing sucks. Obviously worth keeping and it paid off

There's only 4 places on Mt Rushmore and UW has never been there and never will be unless Bill Gates quits being a fucking dweeb. Money, tradition, and location as they say.
The gold standard at UW is Don James level football which never was 25 years of 1 or 2 loss seasons.

Having said that, Buck, like Michigan and like the entire SEC, feast on talent from the southeastern US. Jeremiah Smith is just one of many star Bucks from the Sunshine state and it's been going on since the 90s. If the Florida Big 3 ever regain a pulse and start keeping elite in-state talent, you could see out of state raiders like Buck slide back a bit. But probably not too much.
Washington is probably underrated a bit for the talent it produces, but I think it's fair to say you can't build a giant here on PNW talent alone. You need Cali and since other people hit Cali pretty hard you need to recruit in Texas and Florida too. You do that and you can be like Buck.
Those who know me know that I am anti-blue blood. I'm an American and as such reject monarchy and birthright. It's what attracted me to the Miami story.
So, sure, why not?

How many teams have as many conference championships or playoff appearances in the past decade as UW? The difference between elite teams and the next 20 is consistency. Bama doesn't win the NC every year but they put themselves in a position to by having great recruiting and being in the playoff nearly every year.
Washington needs to be top 15 in the nonsense recruiting numbers and become the pillar of westcoast football year in and year out. Seasons like last year can't happen and if they do they need to immediately get back to 10+ wins with wins over top teams that signals to the 16 year olds that UW exemplifies consistent great seasons with elite seasons being up to them and how much they want to lift.
So much of sports is playing the odds. The best team doesn't win it every year but if you buy more tickets you have a better chance of winning.

Day has almost put on a better performance than Lanning in convincing hard working ultra talented kids that his program is a culture one and that they're adopted sons of Ohio.
Put me in front of these kids and I'll have them drinking Rainier like water camping in the crater of Mt St Helens.

Wasted time looking into this. Doug Pederson is the answer of guys still in coaching age and pedigree. If we're just going college connected guys and ones we're talking Kirby (Kellen hasn't coached college) Moore and the guy at Idaho who I've heard nothing but bad things about him and his brother.
Can't think of a single reasonable guy with an actual connection to the program, from WA or not.
