THE RYDER CUP 2025

PGA of America owns the event and it’s basically their entire funding mechanism. That fact structures everything. They are a terrible organization. There is going to be a push for the PGA Tour to take it over. Not that they are much better.
Hunter Mahen is a good wildcard choice as next captain. He does Sky sports commentary and clearly knows his shot.

Errr PGA of America, thanks. Maybe they need to introduce tour events with more team play formats with fourball and foursome formats to prep for those team events.
-
The PGA championship should go back to matchplay. They won’t because of the TV product and they completely fear a runaway on Sunday. The Olympics should definitely have a 2 man matchplay medal event.

I think thats a great idea for the PGA Championship and would give its own flavor. Right now, it's like the US Open lite and the most boring of the four majors.

I've always liked this read, which Golf.com posts every Monday.
Tour Confidential: How did Europe pull off a stunning road Ryder Cup victory?
-
Imagine being stunned by this result.

What's the whining about with regards to substitutions and injuries? The article I read made no sense. Europe got to pick who the US could NOT use in a match?
-
The US got to pick who they sat out.
-
The whining about that Hovland injury is that Europe was automatically awarded 1/2 a point for that match for a tie.
At the time they already had 11 1/2 points banked and needed 14 to win. Giving Europe that 1/2point without a match being contested pushed them closer to that 14 points. It didn't seem like a big deal at the time, but the US team came dangerously close to making it an issue yesterday.

That's a dumb rule. That should be a 1 point forfeit to the US, not a way to earn (half) points without playing.
