Favorite Apple Cup Ever?

The Apple Cup should have ended before Judd ran a speed option to short side with Will Rogers. Doesn't mean it hasn't had it moments though. What's your favorite? Mine is 2002. Just so many great things.

Cougs were somehow #3 and we were 5-6 and actually a better more talented team. Night game in Pullman. People dressed up in Tostinos Fiesta Bowl outfits even though they were eliminated from that bowl.

Reggie Williams makes big plays over Trufant.

Tank Johnson drags the fake Hawaiian across the turf and knocks him out.

My dad makes the doogstradamus prediction before the game the Cuog will foolish throw a jump ball to their 6'6 WR at a key moment against Nate Robinson not realizing Nate's jumping abilities and he'll pick it off.

Our punter dropped the ball on our goal line and my uncle yelled out "typical Mormon, can't handle pressure." Then left for the bar.

We win in overtime on a play that Cuog can cry about being a bad call.

Uncle calls the house and says he's ordering purple haze shots for the entire Sports Keg bar in Burlington.

Coug fans pelt Dwags with liquor bottles after the game.

1975 the first under James. UW had beat both USC and UCLA and would have a winning season with a win over the Cougs. So naturally WSU dominated the game and was sitting on a 13 point lead with the ball driving into the red zone.

All game the guy behind me kept going "how bout those cougs" to me. He was an old fuck and I was a young buck back then. I was thinking about a fight.

All WSU had to do was kneel because Moon and the Huskies couldn't move the ball all day. Instead they pass and Al Burleson goes the distance on a Pick 6 that Oregon would later copy as always

Still trailed by 6 but the stadium was alive now. A pick 6 is a tremendous momentum play. I looked back at old fuck and smiled.

Huskies get a stop but only have seconds remaining. Shirley WSU would go prevent. Moon drops back and bombs it to Spider Gaines and he takes it the distance. Coug fans to this day say the extra point was missed. The officials did not agree.

I turned around to the old fuck and yelled in his face "HOW BOUT THOSE HUSKIES" 6-5 was a big deal coming off the last days of Jim Owens.

Also receiving votes - the two wins over the Dynasty - especially the ruling on the field game in Pullman

That spoiler at Pullman is tough to beat. John Anderson legend game. Rhey stuck him with some tough kicks to keep UW alive. Tank ran Gesser down from behind like a grizzly bear chasing down a newborn elk. It was glorious.

The next year wasn't bad either. Another dynasty WSU skwad, and anithe unlikely UW win at the buzzer.

I wasnt watching much in 2000, and missed the AC, but for some reason that blowout was a huge thrill to me when I heard and got my fan momentum going for the bowl season.

2000 and 2018 are on my nominees list. 2000 was great because, like 2023, that team had played down to almost every opponent so we were prepared for another struggle and then we just blew the doors off them.

2018 for so many reasons, but I'll limit it to at least just the karma of the SNOW BOWLS!! Coug tends to forget it was 14-0 Dwags before the snow.

2002 and it's not close. I was standing on a bench at The Duchess leading the entire bar in the "Go!" "Huskies!" cheer. My drunk ass willed that team to victory.

My dad was taking my mom to the games back then even though she hated football. You didn't mention the monsoon conditions that day, Race. Conditions are miserable. With about 5:00 left my mom is bitching up a storm and my dad finally relents and then get up to leave.

They hear the first roar as they're crossing the Montlake Bridge. They hear the second massive roar as they reach the car.

My dad was despondent for having missed the miracle. My mom reportedly bitched all the way home.

Either that day or soon after, my mom says "Derek is getting old enough, take HIM to the fucking games!"

And so the following September 1976, 5-year old Stalin attends his first Husky game — a 38-17 win over Virginia.

2001 is kind of an underrated forgotten win over the dynasty. The Coug was somehow a Top 10 team and they got dominated in Husky Stadium. Great goal line stand. Freshman Reggie had 10+ catches for 200 yards practically in the first half against Trufant. We were up by 20 in the 4th.

The 2001 Husky team under achieved for the talent they had

It's the team that was the beginning of the end for Rick

    We had standards.

2023 was very fun after getting to 12-0. Chanting the record over and over while we had my football practice mix playing loud outside the bus. Probably 20 silver bullets I’m by that time there was some serious shit talking going on. We sometimes have time to wait till the players come out so the kids with us can take pictures and congratulate them on a victory. Best part I still have a video still on my phone of ZTF Going to shake hands with my son, but making sure he blows his vape dragged to the other direction before he dabs him up. So that probably makes it my favorite.

2002. I was there dodging liquor bottles and trying to cut up Martin stadium turf with my pocket knife I snuck in

Also, I smacked Nate Robinson on his shoulder pad on the field after the game. I was astonished by how short he was. The fact that he won an NBA slam dunk contest is unbelievable.

Passed him on campus a couple times. He was a boulder of muscle. I'm 5'10" and I thought he was borderline midget. Total freak athlete.

It only took 16 years and 4 coaches to match his conference title

I screamed Way to Go AK 47 and I think he thought I should be locked up. Skippy also looked the other way when we were just feet away from each other. Not that I was a crazy drunk or anything.

    2018.

But personally, 2017 for talking shit to the coug baseball team in the pouring down rain while Vita and Gaskin just dismantle one of their best seasons ever.
