Trump's DOJ demands to see WA State's voter rolls. Why? What are they looking for?

Anything they can use to fool people into believing that mail in election voting is rigged. The real rigging though is their extreme gerrymandering. It's Orwellian doublespeak BS.
-
Does a review of the voter rolls scare you? Kinda seems like it does. Why is that?
-
lol AOG on fire this morning. Wonder if he can explain the extreme Republican gerrymandering.
-
Exactly. We have nothing to hide so we won't show you our voting rolls and internal control processes. Makes perfect sense if you are a mentally deficient tard.
-
I called this one out a month or two ago from a source in state government. The DOL and SoS are shitting bricks because the DOL is registering voters with no checks on citizenship. They aren’t even asking if you are citizen.
-
Deep Red States resisted this same bullshit encroachment on state authority in Daddy's first term.
You gals were for federalism before you were against it.
FLASHBACK:
Mississippi’s Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann, also a Republican, took the criticism a step further.
“My reply would be: They can go jump in the Gulf of Mexico, and Mississippi is a great state to launch from,” Hosemann said in a statement Friday. “Mississippi residents should celebrate Independence Day and our state’s right to protect the privacy of our citizens by conducting our own electoral processes.”

How times an names did AOG sign up under? He seems worried.
-
You mean the feds want to know my name and ss number that the feds issued to me? They want to look at my voter registration form that the state already has all the info off of?
My God when will this fascism stop?????
-
How many cats, corpses, and non-citizens are on them? If you have nothing to hide, why would you squirm?
-
A question for @PurpleJ
-
They should do Oregon too. I’ve let them know twice since I’ve moved out of state back in 2023, but I’m still an active voter in Multnomah County, although it seems nobody used that to cast a vote in my name last November.
-
We've been through this political theatre before:
A total of 44 states refused Trump’s voter data requests on grounds that disclosing the data would constitute an invasion of privacy of its citizens.
Forty-four states showed a spine. There aren't 44 blue states.
-
44 states or 44 blue counties?
-
Dazzler supports being able to vote on a paper napkin.
-
Feel the seriousness Gasbag brings to the table.
Mississippi's response already quoted.
-
Irrelevant and not a counter argument
-
HH are you saying that you’re against transparency in voter registration?
-
Dead people have privacy rights.
-
And a right to Social Security payments.
-
This sounds like bullshit. I think DOL just redirects user to the Elections registration site. Examine question #2. I guess you could lie about it but that would be a felony. To truly check citizenship they'd need a birth certificate or passport. That's what Trump is demanding. Many would have it.
-
Still stings daddy won the popular vote, I feel for you.
-
Take it up with the justice department. The state does no verification of citizenship for voter roles.
-
First, you made the claim they didn't even ask which is false. They have a variety of means to make sure you live at the address you say, I believe. But as far as checking birth certificates, how to you plan to manage that without introducing huge problems? That's been the debate.
-
The issue I have never understood is why anyone who is truly not a US citizen would really risk a felony for one vote? It probably does happen. Would you risk it? I wouldn't.
-
Because there is no risk in a lot of places. No checking, no risk. You used to have to show a US birth certificate to get a state driver's license. Then it would be easy to cross check DMV records against voting rolls to both confirm citizenship and your actual residence. It's illegal in many states to vote harvest but dems still do it. Did you know its illegal to kill people and yet it happens all the time. Should make shoplifting illegal. That will stop it.
-
In order to really prove US citizenship you likely need not just a birth certificate but a notarized one. The problem is that it sets up a lot gotchas for people, there may be name changes to contend with, some other state may be very slow to produce the certificate, it may be lost, who the fuck knows? That's why they can't practically check it. Idiots like Trump keep insisting it is necessary.
-
The Feds know who is a citizen. This isn’t a hard solve.
-
It’s only a felony if they can prove you were aware of the law in the first place which makes it essentially impossible to prosecute effectively.
there is almost zero risk to the person casting the vote. -
I see you can use your last 4 digits of SSN on the form so they have some way of FED lookup. They probably do check it against the person's name. If some of these checks fail the state could demand more info.
-
Fuck, what a load of bullshit. They teach in elementary school not knowing the law is not a defense.
