Dallas Netflix Series

Watching it. Has given me a new appreciation for Barry Switzer. He took a lot of shit for following Johnson and coaching the team another guy built to a SB win. Also didn't realize how intense Aikman was as a team leader and how much he and Switzer feuded. Woulda thought that Aikman was easy going (always seems like that kind of guy) and that his history with Switzer, whom he knew from his time as a recruited kid growing up in Oklahoma, would have made them close. But as much as any player he missed and wanted Johnson's coaching style.
Goes to show again that multiple styles can work. One end of the spectrum you have the hard asses like Saban, Meyer, Johnson and on the other you have guys like Pete Carroll and Barry Swizter.
Also didn't know the personal story behind Switzer's family life. Pretty rough.
Also didn't know he was a coach at Arkansas when Johnson and Jones were players there. Would have guessed he was younger than those dudes.
Also came away with a bit more of an appreciation for Jerry Jones. His deal with Johnson, who is a complicated dude, had more nuance to it than I previously appreciated.
It's a bit corny and the music scores intended to create dramatic crescendos throughout were a bit uninspired. But still … I love a good sports miniseries.
