Odds are against the next hire being better than the current guy even if he can't break through the top. The more tries he gets maybe the more likely he is to get it done.
Regression to the mean on coach hiring etc. in as far as that, I'm always rooting for chaos for Oregon. They aren't going back to 4-8 perennial losers without a special crash course though, too much institutional support and advantage now.

My hot take is that DeBoer is at Alabama for at least one more season, after this year and possibly gets a 4th year.
They can't afford to buy him out for $70 million while also trying to afford a top level roster. SEC bags aren't that deep anymore. The best thing about NIL is that it has absolutely screwed the SEC.
