What would bring in more/less tax revenue, and what is “fair” aside, anyone seeking liberty and freedom from their government should prefer a consumption tax vs an income tax.

Yep. All the tariff talk is just noise to get you to forget the real reason why everything is so expensive.

The most insidious thing about the income tax is that the government gets paid before you do if you're a wage earner which most are. It becomes accepted and forgotten.

That and they can put a lien on your house or business for failure to pay. So basically you are an employee of the government. Wouldn’t be the case with a consumption tax.

Yeah, the Federal Reserve and the income tax were setup at basically the same time to punish rich people and help the poor.
