Our resident BB/CC boys hate America and vote for it's destruction. Maybe you've seen the new Demonrat get rid of the constitution stuff. Pack the court etc. Bucky sends them money. Not much but he does.
-
if I find my quote that states something else on what my position was, will you donate more to Hardcore Husky?
-
I’m pro free market…..something you guys said you were for decades but now have magically have abandoned!
-
No because you have shifted your position over time once it has become obvious that it wasn’t true.
-
Just give me a date when my stated position was “final”
-
Trade with the chicoms isn't free trade. They steal trillions in intellectual property and prior to Trump we did shit. The Euros regulate American businesses from competing. Again, not free trade. We were the world's open market and the world wasn't. Toss in the environmental devastation of the chicoms. Strip mining the fish in the ocean. Mercury from their unregulated coal plant emission spread around the world. And if you actually were concerned about CO2 you just closed your eyes to the amount the chicoms and Indians were pumping out because as long as it wasn't US CO2 it was different. Congrats on you America Last economic program. The term "free trade" has to mean something. You use it as a talisman and think that wins the argument. Such a stupid lazy soft mind.
-
My literal first post on this thread was about how American companies were absorbing the costs. That sure doesn’t look like I was stating only the consumers were paying for tariffs now does it?
-
-
No, you were pushing the hit to the American consumer. You also ignored that foreign companies were absorbing costs. You ignored alternative market sources. Other than that, you still nailed it and want the tariffs lifted to help out the Euros and the chicoms. America Last, Now and Forever.

What the fuck????? I thought Japan was paying for this!!!! Where the hell is @Bob_C and his negotiating????!????
-
Interesting. 10% price increase with a 15% tariff.
-
Sony of America ate the other 5%. But …I thought I wasn’t going to have to pay any price increases? What happened???? It’s like I’m being charged a 10 % consumption tax?
-
More likely Sony of Japan eats it as Japan has higher income tax rates than the US does. At least that’s how they should do it.
-
I told you….we need you buddy. These Fortune 500 companies have a huge hole that needs your consulting
-
By the way Bob, just for your future negotiations, the company where the FDI is located and where the tariff is being supplied is on the hook for the Tariff.
Meaning, in this case that import fee is coming out of Sony of America the importer and not Sony of Japan. I don’t want you to go to jail for tax evasion.
-
Big international companies like Sony have entire departments just to deal with optimizing transfer prices between entities to get the costs where it makes the most sense for taxes.
-
Bob can you stfu please. I’m more interested in what the 24yo G4 Amazon employee of the week has to say
-
Man I’ve got to hand it to Trump though. He’s figured out a way to implement a consumption tax and you liberals are pretty happy to pay it!
-
Libertarians were always for a consumption tax vs an income tax. Now we just need to find out what that blended consumption tax is that has been imposed on us.
-
Rich folks can change income tax to gains and avoid income tax which is why Buffet always pops off about his secretary paying more income tax
You can't hide what you consume and rich people consume more so they would pay more. Could be worth a shot
-
What would bring in more/less tax revenue, and what is “fair” aside, anyone seeking liberty and freedom from their government should prefer a consumption tax vs an income tax.
-
-
End the Fed, repeal the 16th amendment.
Ka Ching for the average Joe.
-
Yep. All the tariff talk is just noise to get you to forget the real reason why everything is so expensive.
-
The most insidious thing about the income tax is that the government gets paid before you do if you're a wage earner which most are. It becomes accepted and forgotten.
When you write the check you feel it
-
That and they can put a lien on your house or business for failure to pay. So basically you are an employee of the government. Wouldn’t be the case with a consumption tax.
-
But I get a big refund check!!!!
-
I agree guys. You should go public with your plans to put the tax burden on lower income families and lessen them on Musk.
-
That's pretty much the opposite of what we're saying
-
Yeah, the Federal Reserve and the income tax were setup at basically the same time to punish rich people and help the poor.
