Devin Bryant was a DeBoer LB recruit and was the trinity league defensive MVP his senior year at Bosco. Needed to get bigger and had to sit behind Bruener and Tupatala last year.
Elineus Davis was a DeBoer recruit on the Dline. Redshirted and played in spots last year. Flashed potential when he played.
Rashiid Williams was a 4* DeBoer recruit at WR. Redshirted and played some last year showing good hands.
Jacob Lane was a DeBoer recruit at DE. He played as a true freshman on the 2023 team, was forced to play some on the interior last year when the line died and has been rotating as first team edge in camp this year.
Audric Harris was a 4* WR early enrollee recruit to Arizona and then portaled to UW when Judd came, just like Demond Williams. He played some last year as a true freshman.
Kevin Green was an Arizona portal WR that was said to be pushing for time as the starting slot last year but hurt his knee in the last practice of fall camp and that ended his season.
I'm just as engaged as I was last preseason I think. That's still about 1/10 of the give a fuck that I had every other preseason going back to 2000.
Still though, UW has an exciting QB, I still remember some of the players' names from when they were recruited, and I still hate everyone who isn't UW. That outta get me through another season.
If you took away the glow of the positives of 2023, I will say, there's a lot more to be excited about this season than there was going into last season.
I mean, it’s truly hard to get excited about a team that has 50% of its players as new guys that we don’t know ~ I mean, good job at getting the available new talent, but regardless of how good they are, they are unknown. Its also probable that the team will need to gel which is another way of saying that the coherence that marks a good team is not going to be there this year unless miracles happen at Montlake.
We? have a very good roster (not a lot to bitch about) but also don't have the built up hype from an 11 win season in which you were clearly the best team in your conference and are returning everybody.
Part of the fun of CFB was watching the roster grow organically. Guys might play as a RS freshman, then start as a so. Now it's everyone for themselves, transfer to Texas A&M. Wait, Clumpson will pay me more to endorse nail polish. Let's go there. I am not going to bother to invest time in rosters that turn over by 50 or 55 guys each year.
Last year was an exhibition season thanks to the exodus. Great home games horrible road performance
I don't think it has a lot to do with this year. Year 2 is big as always
Fisch has the tools now, can he use them
We? have always been impatient. That's why we're not at dogman. But a consequence of pay for play and multi million dollar coaches has made a lot more fans impatient
No 5 year plans or wait until he gets his guys in there
NFL fires coaches every two or three years that don't make the playoffs. It's the tradeoff for getting paid a lot
I agree with the consensus that beating buckeye will light it up
College football has turned into what the NFLPA could only dream of getting which is 100% pure, free agent movement without any obligation to contracts, no cap on salaries, etc.
But nothing has really changed and college football is the same sport it was 20+ years ago, and anyone who thinks it has changed for the worse is soft and clueless.
Just straight up blaming the portal in 2025 if you bought in for 2022-23 as a UW fan is kind of hypocritical. No portal. Fine. No Penix and Dylan Morris is DeBoer's QB those seasons. Good news! DeBoer is probably still here and has a record a lot like Sark's when he was here.
We've had a worst of all time run after a great of all time run of shit that specifically mostly has to do with the modern landscape of college football, but if we get rolling again, especially as soon as 2025, we should be bought in.
I think some of the stuff like the portal and NIL may calm down a bit outside of QBs too.
Winning cures everything. Find portal guys who don't suck and people will bitch less about the portal, but don't expect people to be pumped up for the offseason when 1/3 of the roster turns over every year.
ATBS, I'll like the new guys and try to remember their names if they beat tOSU and are rich, cool, and 4 - 0.
I believe and agree with Judd's philosophy that we will mostly build through high school recruiting. If we're really building for 2026 we'll need some ringer portal types at WR and DL though.

HTH
I'm hearing good things about UW. Sleeper, darkhorse, unheralded, etc.
Fisch has the B1G right where he wants it.

I don't know either.

It's really not different at all.
Saw IT on campus every other day. He was clearly getting paid. A lot.

I'm interested.
The portal is what's different.
Busy corching 11-12 year old shitheads
Dumbest softest fucking fans ever care about that shit.
Who's a player that everybody here blows? Dillon Johnson?
Spare me.

The NFL was at its greatest with no cap and Eddie DeBartolo and Jerry Jones spending each other into oblivion
I don't care as much for the socialist NFL
Keep college football capitalist!

Yes, that's correct.
And I don't care what soft and clueless fans want to go spend their time and money on.
@haie Unfortunately, UW needs their money to compete so you better find a way to get them onboard.
