That's a good one, but UW's offensive line played like pussies so I don't know that a healthy Johnson makes a big difference.
Mine is that if the scrub backup RB catches the wheel route in the Natty, UW wins. I don't even remember what the score was at the time, but that was soul crushing. UW could not find the one big play when they needed it.
The Pac-10 doesn't go after the tallest poppy and take out UW at the knees. Don James coaches two more seasons, and retires with two more Rose Bowl victories. Napoleon goes out in style as Rose Bowl MVP! And Oregon never enjoys "The Pick"
2022 if we don't find a way to lose to UCLA or ASU and if the Pac-12 doesn't fuck us by giving us two long road trips back-to-back we play for the title in 2022 and have the honor of getting fucked up by Georgia - though that probably means everyone leaves after that season.
What if UW doesn't travel back and forth to Seattle for academis reasons and just stays in the souwf between bowl games?
Sacrificing Dillon Johnson against the fighting Sarks was definitely horrific. Like Doogles said, he would have been a big help to Penix, who was flustered by the Michigan DL.
I'll STFU and go back to my Uber-driving ways now.
Instead of hiring Rick in 1998, UW chooses Toledo coach Gary Pinkle who leads UW to 15 years of relevance and winning. USC, UW and Oregon slug it out for the first 7 years then UW, Oregon and Stanford jockey for titles the last 8. Oregon never hits the heights they did because UW would have been in their way on the field and on the recruiting trail.
What about this? After a magical 2000 run - Neuheisel gets hired by an NFL team and then Pinkel comes from Toledo instead of going to Missouri. Pinkel decides he's ready to retire in the mid-2010s and Petersmann takes over.
I think Neuheisel was a great coach. I was glad he was ousted by UW over nothing. Seminal moment in UW football history. Set UW back 15 years, if not to this day.
Hindsight shows Neu was a great step in coach for a couple seasons and then he was soft and an overrated recruiter/terrible judge of talent. UW was probably going to have to fire him after 2003 or 04 anyway and one reason the program fell off so hard is his recruiting. Having him take off after 2000 or 01 would have been ideal. Anything but Gilby would have probably been better.

My Doog take is mainly based off Dillon was essentially an extra OL in pass protection all year.
So many epic Penix moments were made possible by Dillon bodying an untouched defender.
UW wins with that.
I still think Oregon is getting the hammer over Willie Lyles.

Milroe scores and Washington beats Bama and offers DeBoer 13 million and we're at the top of the B1G
For a game we lost by 20, the Michigan game has a shit ton of what ifs, and some that aren't super doogy?
What if Johnson isn't hurt?
What if Alabama gets that last yard to beat Michigan?
What if Michigan still had a way to steal plays and it should legit get taken away?
What if they don't throw the BS holding call on Rosengarten?
What if they call holding on the play where the guy held ZTF?
What if Nixon doesn't drop a wide open big play?
What if DeBoer wasn't distracted by Alabama?
What if Penix just locks into Rome and lets him win the fucking game?
What if?
These are all things total losers say
We were so close, let’s hope Fisch knows what the f’ he’s doing
If Lambo just has Damon hand the ball to Napoleon, there’s no Phil Knight Donald Duck fucking empire.

He was great with the tuff minded Lambo guys. The team was getting pretty soft when he got ousted, but yeah, uw really fucked that up.

That’s best of all worlds. I’ll take it.
It only took 15 years for a Husky coach to only lose one game in the regular season and 22 years to end with one loss after Rick
Chip Kelly was only offered Oregon job because UW was sniffing around.
Could have been us.
Not sure if this was serious but do yo mean when he was hired as OC or promoted to head coach?
