I went through every schedule These are the ones most likely to finish outside top 25, assuming 4 or more losses is too many to be ranked:
BYU: BYjew dismissed for fornication. If only he'd soaked. Or derfed. At least 7 games are within 5 pts as of today.
SCarolina: Missing a lot on both sides; schedule hits 6-6 to 8-4 based on spreads.
Illinois: 5 opponents within 3ish pt spread, plus an ass kicking by Ohio State. Loss at UW, too. 8-4 likely, but shouldn't be top 25.
Florida: if the Gators get to 9-3 with this schedule, they should be in the playoff. 7-5 or 8-4 most probable. At 8-4, they probably should be ranked anyway.
Boise: mentioned only because the schedule is dreckfest. At Notre Dame is the only P5 game. If ranked, it's the schedule.
With portal and all the shit now it seems like there's a limit of teams after the first batch that all kind of seem the same and could go anyway. I'd say the Top 9 are the only ones I trust. Miami probably spends enough to be decent. I don't believe the ASU hype, but they're in the Big 12 so whatever.
Michigan seems like a major question mark. They have some nice experience and talent on defense, but Moore might be a disaster and they grossly underachieved with better talent last year.
