I'm not in the ST RTA area so it's infrequent for me, but every time I've gotten on the light rail it's empty unless I'm going to/from a Husky game via the Angle Lake station.
They built a train that people don't want to ride. I've had the conversation with one of the PR reps for ST and told him that they need to add express service which bypasses some of the stops. Particularly if you're going through Seattle because it grinds to a crawl once you're south of downtown. The number of stops in the ghetto where nobody gets on/off is insane. Trains that run at street grade along arterials are nothing more than overpriced buses.
I love the light rail. although…. I live in Idaho.
It's made visiting the city much more affordable for me. We get a hotel room up north in Lynnwood walking distance to rail station and take the train to downtown. It saves tons of money on hotel rooms, and money on parking downtown. My brother and I have taken in a Huskies game and Mariners on the same day because you can walk out of the stadium and onto the train. Easy to get off the train at Westlake and onto the monorail to Seattle center as well. Overall - very nice for tourists.
So basically, I'm taking your money because I paid $3 for an Orca card that's re-usable and I pay only $6/day for unlimited rides and pay that only when I'm in Seattle. I use WAY MORE than the value of $6 and I don't have to pay any of the taxes since I live out of state.

How many people here have used the light rail?

Sorry fellas, I'm stealing from you.
Dow is in charge of it. Can’t believe he wants to tax to solve his budget hole.
Maybe they could extend it to Bakersfield
I use it everytime I go to Seattle….. which granted nowadays is not very often
$6 a day and can be downtown and at Husky Stadium in 8 mins is a dream
