Cousin in New Braunsfels says the rain/flooding is incredible. Once in 50 years kind of event. They got the warning and flew up to Austin for the weekend. Talking to their neighbors sounds like they dodged a bullet at their residence but not sure about their lake house on Canyon. Many not nearly so lucky.

What amazes me is that it was 100% poor planning and failed policy that contributed to the loss of life from wild fires in Maui and Los Angeles. It was 100% a failure in response that delayed aid to people in western NC. Not a peep about it from CNN or MSNBC.
