Why aren't democrats proud to be American?

It's the 4th of July so it's a good question right? Republicans are exceedingly proud of our country and being part of it. A majority of democrats hate it.

Democrats don't like our country. This is something most of us on here have known for years. They especially don't like it when they don't have the power over the people, but even when they have the power to force the populace to think and live like they think they should, the majority of them still hate this country. Their like of our country only improves when they have the power. Republicans are proud of the country regardless of who is in office.

My opinion is that democrats own the education system, and they have taught our children to hate their country. It clearly started with the 60's boomers and as they professionally populated the libraries, municipalities and education system, they infected two generations of children with their hate for everything and everyone that disagreed with their politics.

To all of you who love our country, happy 4th! To the rest of you, fuck off.

Star Parker: Why aren't democrats proud to be American? | Opinion | thedailytimes.com

In 2001, 90% of Republicans said they were “extremely proud” or “very proud” to be an American. In 2025, 92% of Republicans say they are “extremely proud” or very “proud.”

In 2001, 87% of Democrats said they were either “extremely” or “very” proud. But in 2025, only 36% of Democrats say they are “extremely” or “very” proud of their country.

Worth noting is that over the last 25 years, the Republican percentage saying they are “extremely” or “very” proud barely moved. Republican pride in the country stayed strong regardless of the party in power, never ever dropping below 84%.

However, Democrat pride moved with the party in power. During Democrat administrations, Democrat pride in the country increased. During Republican administrations, it dropped.

What this tells me is that Republicans see the country in terms of its principles. Democrats see everything through the lens of politics.
