Mamdani and the democrat party

I still keep in touch with a lot of old democrats that I used to hang and work with. We all are on a private political message board and it gets brutal at times but everyone is mature enough to see it for what it is: A simple message board to get the thoughts out and hash out the issues.
The Mamdani election has been a fascinating topic. A couple dems (in their 50's & 60's) are leaving the rat party. They were too young to be part of the college age 60's generation, so they don't blindly follow a doctrine that is not at all well-defined and held together only through hatred of their country and the individuals who inhabit the country that don't think like they do. We have plenty of the early boomers in the group and they still hate country and anyone who disagrees with them. On a side note, I feel sorry for them. It's a life wasted with so much hatred. They seem to roll out of bed in the morning with an ever-present dissatisfaction with life. They are constantly restless and searching for something that has meaning in their lives. Most of them have switched religions a dozen times, joined 'almost cult' organizations over the years, we even have several members who gave their money to that dingbat Ramtha (for those who remember her and her bullshit in Seattle back in the day). It's like Bill Murray says in Stripes "I'm a member of a lost and restless generation".
Back to those that are claiming to leave the party. They are tired of the far far left and have recently conceded that the far left that is in control is also racist and hate Jews. Well duh. Who would have ever thought that bigoted and racist candidates would get elected to congress like we have seen in The Squad? Then you have Mamdani. A devout communist who clearly is a Jew hater and the next Mayor of NYC. Could anyone predict this kind of garbage representing the rat party even 12 years ago?
This message board group is kind of a microcosm of the parties as a whole. The cracks are developing on the left side of the aisle. You start electing communist Jew haters to the position of Mayor and you will see even more defections. It's going to be interesting.
