Tldr US and Israel are both in a stronger position today and Iran is in a weaker spot. If we end it there we walk away ahead.
I'm inclined to sit on the lead while choking the Iranian regime out rather than go all in to help the Iranians do what's their responsibility.
Look no further than Iraq to see how "grateful" they are for us? getting rid of Saddam.

In a [presumably] stronger position today because the US did something that everybody keeps saying was a betrayal of a campaign promise. So, was it was a good thing because it worked and it was just the tip?
And walk away ahead, today, sure. But for how long? Nothing has been done to stem their sponsorship of terrorism. Why not drag them to the table and extract more? Why is it Iraq or go home? Is there not a middle point? These guys were not our friends before, they're not our friends now and they're not going to be our friends tomorrow. There is no love lost. Press down on the throat.
