So DeBoer and Grubb were skunked in their transition class at UW, no QB. They couldn't get Kienholz or Avery Johnson in their first full class the next year either. Late in the recruiting process of that first class they had to convince Austin Mack to reclassify a year early to get a QB at all or they may have been shut out two years in a row. The next season they had the lowly rated local kid committed forever and dumped him to get Davis who then splits UW in Spring after seeing Demond Williams up close, transfers to UCLA and then after seeing the Iamalalalavalala brothers up close bolts again and ends up at Hawaii. At Alabama they couldn't hold on to Julien Sayin who was already enrolled and he ended up at TOSU. Now that big fish QB they convinced to reclassify to come to UW, Mack, couldn't win the job in his first attempt even though he's been running their stuff for two years in practice. Add to that, Judd Fishy just beat Deboer and Grubb head to head for a QB from New Jersey of all places. For a couple guys who run an offense as attractive as the one they pilot they have the damndest time securing a signal caller. Heaner and Penix weren't recruited by either of these guys out of high school, Penix was at Indiana when Deboer got there and Heaner went to Fresno to play with Tedford, not Deboer. Milroe was a Heisman contender coming in to last year after playing for Tommy Rees but struggled mightily trying to run their stuff. I know a lot of recruiting is money based these days but obviously there is still some sales to it all and those two can't seem to sell what they have. It's Weird. They gotta get that offense humming this year or they might be fucked as far as recruiting QB's. Seeing their history, they may be fucked anyway.
I’ve heard Ty Simpson is the leader after spring ball. Again, a QB that DeBoer and Grubb inherited. It’s close between him, Mack and a freshman though. DeBoer is expected to take the competition late into fall camp. Generally it’s not good that someone didn’t grab the bull by the horns by now. We’ll see
you’ll get another chance at kleinholz when he hits the portal (if you even want him). @backthepack said he was a future heisman winner based off of his JV basketball footage so go get him!

Thanks Taft!

I'm a believer in DeBoer, but I can't argue much with this assessment, aside from pointing out that you spelled
Lamalalalavalala with too few a's
Is Mack expected to be the starter at Bama this year or do they have someone else?
