because this is a nationwide claim and you're just blaming California or Washington. It's not $1.98 or anything close to it anywhere.

I agree west coast gas prices are bad and have been for a long time, but pulling random numbers out of your ass that don't exist isn't the way to solve it, either.

Yeah, the way to solve the problem is more carbon taxes, more direct taxes on gasoline, shutting down oil refineries in Cali, deny drilling permits, tax flare offs etc. So you admit there is a problem and as usual you offer nothing to do with fixing the problem except bite at ankles.

A couple of weeks ago it was $2.85 in NJ at the entrance to the Holland Tunnel. Not exactly the back woods. $4.70 near my house yesterday.
