yep, that's all fair. if he doesn't learn to throw it away in the NFL it will be for not for long for him. I also wonder if it's more about always making a big play vs. completion % for him.

his personality, while grading, does seem to work for him. let's put it this way: if you have to send your QB to therapy, it's better when you have to send him to the "you have too much confidence" therapist rather than the other kind.

One thing it did is point out that Colorado did have a really nice run as a program that time has mostly forgot when people pointed out that they had some studs in the 80s and 90s, including a past Heisman winner, who didn't have their numbers retired.

Overall, the Sanders operation was big for them. Prior to that they were number one on my list of power conference programs I could realistically see dropping football. Now that's Stanford.

Sure, but if you run out of bounds for a loss of yards instead of just throwing it into the stands, you're a selfish asshole. Seen him do that too.

Brock was ho hum as a dawg and if Heaner can play in the league that tells you how desperate teams are for an average arm or qb As a pro, at least Brock had some measurables enough to persuade a team to draft him although he was a very average pro.

Haven’t paid much attention to Colorado or Sanders at QB. The only reason anyone cared or paid attention was Deon and Hunter. It’s anyone guess if Sanders is a bust, average or anything above good at this point. However, since the NFL is so QB driven these days many of the teams with starters similar to the Huard brothers with a very limited ceiling; QBs are going to continue to be over drafted.

When it’s all said and done in 3 years the best QB in this year’s class will likely come from the 3rd or 5th round and not Ward or Sanders. As a fringe Hawk fan taking a flyer on a qb on the weekend is the best bet in case they get lucky. Purdy might be good but giving him a $40+ contract is insane because he’s taking too much of the cap imo.

C'mon Creep. You literally said grading. Could you have meant grating?

I was not very engaged during the period from 1995 through 99. Missed a lot of games and I actually think the bowl game with KSU was the first one I really sat down for prior to the 2000 season which got me back into it. I couldn't remember which game was which. I don't think I've ever actually watched the miracle game. I was definitely thinking of 1996.

Look, you have me set up in a narrative about Sanders that isn't quite accurate. IDGAF about any of the Sanders people and think them loud mouthed and gaudy people. Stipulated.

But that quote, which another poster has now attributed to "multiple GMs", which is also not accurate, comes off like a hit piece IMO. Are you going to tell me that someone in this profession, with all the dipshit, entitled, knuckle-dragging, hood rat, out-of-control egos that come through their organizations had an interview that was so historically bad that he had to leak this out anonymously? Seriously? And you believe it? You need to get out of Idaho for five minutes and touch some pavement my man. That comes off as a hit piece. I don't blame his Dad for being pissed off. You want to believe it because you don't like him, and not liking him is perfectly fine. But divorce your feelings from the reality of his ability.

What was it Atomic or someone said about Sanders being selfish and not throwing it away and taking unnecessary sacks? Seriously? That's the reason this guy is getting historically fucked by make-believe GM comments? In a mind-blowing (to me) turn of events, the Coog who was just selected first in the draft wrote the book on making stupid and selfish plays. Ward holds the ball by his hip, runs around like he's on a sandlot and fumbles it all the time while trying to make the big splash play when there is a safe check-down that will get him yards. He does this all the time. He makes stupid aggressive throws all the time. Ward, to me, is the embodiment of selfish and stupid at that position, and nobody here sees it? GTFOOH with this take. It's terrible. Sanders. Can. Play. I've no idea if he'll have a great career, but the kid made throw after throw and big plays all the while being pummeled and chased 90% of the time he dropped back. Ward was protected at Miami and more often than not created his own problems. So, #1 and not drafted. Ok, that makes sense. Ward would be in a wheelchair if he played at Colorado. Cook that.

Also, if entitled attitudes bother you, then get off the Jeanty train. He's a dumb shit loud mouth, too, but doesn't play an important position. Sanders does.

This draft was so sketchy. I can't even draft Mason Graham knowing that he got pancaked in a game-deciding play by a Portland State kid. The Boise running back seems like the surest thing.

Both the quarterbacks don't have their heads screwed on straight. What GM's don't want to deal with are the headlines from every Deion comment after his kid starts sucking or gets benched.

The multiple GMs thing was something I heard on the NFL Network and wasn’t the tweet I saw here yesterday, maybe someone said the same here too.

You can’t say this isn’t accurate with any real evidence anymore than myself or others here; however, it was reported he bombed the face to face meeting and nobody said others haven’t been bad or terrible in the past. More than one which is multiple stated Sanders was the worst and a couple other adjectives I can’t remember they had experienced ever in their professional history.

Journalists/reporters can’t continue to do their job after quoting an executive or GM without using anonymous sources and imo sports reporters in general are more honest than the Fake News. I’m playing devils advocate because I don’t know or honestly care to be honest but as a sports fan the guys/gals on the nfl network or the podcasts I listen to that interview insiders like Mike Florio seem pretty accurate in my experience.

I don’t have any skin in the game and I’m not trying to be argumentative, only adding my opinion in the discussion. I hope junior succeeds plus I always liked (still do) Neon Deon as an athlete and he backed up his words as a pro in both sports.

Call me out for wearing purple colored glasses, but this feels like the worst draft class I can ever remember. I can't think of an NFL Draft comparison but reminds of the 2000 NBA Draft. The number one overall pick would have been QB7 in last year's draft. Guys like Graham who went in the Top 5 feel like late-first guys a lot of years.

Son of a bitch. Sanders doesn't live in Idaho?!?

I could have sworn I saw Shadeur rolling down Sherman Ave in CDA revving his engine.

Eh, I have a hard time reacting to it as anything other than hyperbole. If you pause for just a minute and think of the legion of imbeciles and actual criminals that have come and gone through the NFL, it's like, yeah, ok, I'm guessing then that the GM hasn't interviewed that many players. The kid has a mouth like his Dad and his Dad is a lightning rod for criticism. Just read this board as an example of bias at work. But he's pretty clean as players go. Cocky, sure. Lots of players have big mouths.

As long as this is all "IMO", IMO the kid does in fact take heat because of his father. I 100% believe that. Neon is a polarizing person. No doubt about it and little doubt that some of the shit that comes his way is deflected onto his son.

As to anonymous sources, I think it's bullshit, but mostly on the GM's part. WTF is he afraid of? Grab you balls and tell everyone what you think, why you think it, and sign your name to it.

If this kid were a Husky getting this kind of PR fuck-job, this place would lose its collective mind and trip a fuse that would shut down the internet for the day.

This sanders thing is fascinating. After dart going there is nobody else that was drafted that's even close to his accolades. He must've really unimpressed in the interviews I suppose and nobody wants to deal with the press that comes with drafting him. Both can be true. NFL GM's would draft the most hardened criminal if they think they will help them win. There's qb's that are bad teammates that get drafted higher than this.
