The only downside was hair metal (outside of Motley Crue and Ratt).
Bad music and stupid clothing. There’s a reason Metallica still sells out arenas while Poison is playing country fair lineups with Bullet Boys, Trixter, and Winger.
Still, was wild seeing straight dudes in middle school and high school dressed effeminately and wearing makeup and hair-sprayed long hair looking back on it. Wasn’t my crowd.
Thank gawd for G n’ R pulling away from that look after the Jungle video with a more raw sound and help setting the national stage for Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

Cocaine in the 70s was a rich persons novelty drug featured in all sorts of movies like Annie Hall. Tried and didn't really like it fortunately. Weed was a better value

Only drug I ever tried was weed as a youngster. Didn't like it. Really don't like being altered mentally by any substance. A little buzz from some drinks is OK but I rarely do that and if I do we were having a good time at an event with good friends and family.
Had to take Ketamine in the ER twice back in the day... had some food stuck in my throat.... first one was cool just a warm feeling, kind of floating. Second was a deeper dose... I didn't even know what a human was... that was new years 2020... i was convinced covid was because I didn't come out of the K hole....
Ketamine is definitely a fun drug!
