Agree with the premise but I think Milwaukee is a poor example.
Designed in the US and manufactured in China. That's like 81% of US companies(not saying it should be don't twist).
More common is buying things like old sears brand names and using such "made in America" brands as a slap on badge to cheap Chinese brand stuff.
