My wife invited the neighbors over to watch it, even though we're getting back from Pullman right around kickoff. So now I have to actually be around with it on in the background.
Kill me.

The NFL thinks they are bullet proof because so far they have been. I think they may have a similar problem to college ball in getting to the championship too far down the road. It's been in February for awhile now but the 17th game is new and stupid IMO
However I bet the ratings are huge - maybe all time because of the three peat

I always thought 16 was a perfectly symmetrical number of games. But it's all about the money

Yeah, what’s disappointing is that if even only one of Washington or Buffalo had won, this Super Bowl would have been compelling as fuck. Either the best rookie in a generation vs the current active best of all time or the can they finally break through bills vs the immovable object.

The 17 game schedule is gay and I don’t mean gay as in happy, I mean gay as in retarded.

I too hate the 17th game.
This isn’t getting better with the 2026 season having it scheduled for 2/14/27, which is Presidents’ Day weekend that year.
Making more content and it being drawn out makes it easier to ignore.

Either go back to 16 or make it 18 with two preseason games. Give the player's association something to make it happen, because we know 16 won't. That won't solve much, but it's a start.

The game has an integrity problem. Players are starting to call them on it, and if you listen to Aikman, he says it if you read between the lines. Goodell is possible the worst commissioner ever.

As predicted, record ratings. Most watched ever. Hard to tell the NFL they are doing something wrong when the cash keeps flowing
Looking at the post game headlines and the whole deal is now like a gossip column. But they attract a lot of women and that was the goal
Swifties and the Kelce bros and all that sells soap

Jason Whitlock thinks the NFL might be lying about the ratings. But the whole Taylor Swift/Kelce thing might have been enough to break records. I don't know, but I do know it appeals to me none whatsoever.
