California taking the scoreboard as expected.

Well, since the federal government owns 48% of California succession might not go like they planned.

Perfect. Democrats won't win another national election. I can live with that.
They are already bankrupt as a state and will never ever afford the retirements they have voted for themselves in the public sector and is being paid for off the backs of the private sector. Taxes will balloon and more and more corporations will leave. They have already lost a lot of Hi Tech, wait until the democrats look at the remaining group and tell them they are going to pay for the states retirement packages through doubling tax rates. The produce produced in CA will now have to compete with added tariffs. No one in any state will have to pay for their fucked up man made and natural disasters they clearly aren't prepared for. They can open their borders again! National defense? Hello neighboring states, you just got more bases and income.
More than anything, none of us will have to pay for the states massive welfare rolls.

Let California secede officially and then invade them and make them a territory. I’d love to see the Leftists who would vote for the secession form their own military as GOO voters and profitable businesses leave in droves as refugees.
All the benefits of California without them affecting national elections, plus the kooks can stay in our new territory.
May as well before China does it.
it’s difficult out to believe that people in charge can be so reactionary, but that’s today’s Democrat party.

Can we just ditch SF, LA, Portland and Seattle while making the remainder the Great State of Lincoln?
-
Secession talk is retarded.
But California pays in more than it receives back. Pretending that isn't true doesn't change the fact.
-
California is either not as rich or powerful relative to everyone as you claim or they are insane for wanting to continue to dilute their own power.
-
California would be harmed by leaving the US. The US would be harmed by California leaving. Pretending there would be a winner in this scenario is fucking stupid.
-
It’s cute that you think a rational USA would not overtake California within months of whatever fever dream secession your crazy Dem leaders apparently think they can pull off with no push back.
Will you be signing up for the California military, Rambo?
-
Not arguing that at all. Posing the question that why does the richest state always want more federal government spending and centralized power? Wouldn’t it be in their theoretical benefit to have less central Federal government and they get to keep more of their own money and more control over their own decisions? Seems like some smart person will make that argument someday and do well with it.
