tough call. Sanders was great. I’m old enough to have watched him play. Never been before or since a scat back like him … not even Sayers. But there have have been other amazing backs. Guys I’ve seen in person whose athletic ability is otherworldly. Bo Jackson is that kind of back. People who saw him tell me Marcus Dupree was that kind of back. Other level entirely.

But I’ve never seen anyone do what Hunter did and now they have you. Im sure there are athletes who had the athleticism to pull it off but none have actually done it. Not in the modern era. The endurance alone should impress you.

If he were a Husky you’d be more sympathetic to the argument. 92 catches. 92. While being a full time corner. And 1st round talent at both.

The very definition of THE best player. Geanty is just another nice hard running back. Anyone who thinks he’s more than that simply started watching football last year or has an axe to grind with Hunter or both.

3.5 and fumbled twice last night. lolz. Both Oregonbscks averaged over 7 against Nittany

Barry had another 280 in the bowl game that isn't in that number

Jaunty gets everything to count playing more games and couldn't catch him

92 catches is significant. we all should know that. and doing while being a full time corner is impressive . doing both very well is mind blowing. that’s why nobody else has done it while I’ve been watching football.

you’re not going to get pushback from me on Barry Sanders.

I think Hunter is just a different beast. I dont have an inventory of his catches, which at 92 is quite a lot to track, but just from the games I watched he made plenty of downfield “go get it” catches. He’s not the Buff’s Julian Edelman or anything like that. Instead of Sanders, the comp is really Woodson, who was and is a very popular Heisman winner.

The only reason I brought up Sanders was to differentiate Geanty from truly generational talent. I don’t think he is. Not Sanders. Not Jackson. Not Walker. Not Peterson. Not Simpson. I think he’s a very good back and that’s all. Should have a solid pro career. But there were media people saying this kid was doing things we’ve never seen before, which is ludicrous especially considering his conference.
