Carter's heart was in the right place- but like most, if not all, modern day leftists he was tool for the far left. He wanted peace in the ME- but he tacitly blamed the Jews for not keeping the peace when Hamas, PLO, and the rest were doing everything they could to kill Jews. He thought everyone believed the same way he did, and that rational thinking along with conversation would win the day. He never learned that line of thinking doesn't work with religious extremists who would send their own kids off to be martyrs.
He pretty much set the standard for bad policy until Sleepy Joe said, "Hold my Bubba Beer".

His actions after he was president drive my argument. He continued to teach Sunday school, attended church regularly, gave himself to humanitarian causes, didn’t fuck pornstars while his wife was pregnant. I mean I can go on all day.
