i think it has more to do with timing. We are basically trying to buy more than half our defensive starters in the portal at least. Waiting for an nfl dc could be disastrous even though that would be ideal.

I’ve heard Boner had him on the hook to come back in some capacity for 2024 before he left town. Then, poof, no job. He was a fast riser in college coaching before some, he said, she said stuff sidetracked his career.
