UW Couch Sales & Purchases (Portal Tracker)

Zona papers previously reported he is unlikely to be ready for spring practices.
Guess he's a risk, but assuming rehab goes well, he should have the biggest impact from the portal next season
-
It must be an ACL tear then or a patella tendon injury? I imagine UW Medical staff examined his knee to understand what is going on.
This LB just entered the portal and would be a perfect addition. He's a big dude:

Fuck Vanilla, @HFNY
I want the Wazzu kid, he’s 232lbs 76 tackles, 3 FF, 4 FR and 3 INT last year. Maybe Alexander at UCF. He’s a local kid, a little smaller, 223lbs but had 140 tackles the last two years.

College football insider Dick Cheese!

I feel like it’s fudgie but it’s not
-
Hmmm, if the Huskies take two veteran LBs than maybe Manu will redshirt?
What's super Chinteresting is Rian Davis' comp by the ANALyst:
-
Does this analyst personally know Dick Cheese?🤔🤔
-
It doesn't seem like we're actually upgrading at any of these positions.
-
it’s LIPO and I fucking hate that. Maybe one or two are a clear upgrade but to your point, haven’t really beaten any big boys for these dudes.
-
Lars, killing it as always. Fuck sake.

-
damn you and your 4 minutes.
Mines better. Love you, Kev

With this commit, I wonder if they will be moving DeShawn Lynch to 3-tech. Would be insurance in case Jayvon Parker can't heal up in time to make a difference in 2025.
-
Not sure what you mean, at least other than LB but they'll nab at least one more veteran LB.
Definitely upgrading OL and at least improving depth at DT. Eldridge is a nice addition as well.
The key with with the very big 2025 class (and decent sized 2023 and 2024 classes) is to use the portal to get good / experienced players in order to give the younger guys time to develop. Rushing guys onto the field isn't good for anyone and they are more likely to get hurt too.
-
I think the overall quality of the roster has gone up though I haven’t had any massive Bonner inducing portals.
-
They’ve upgraded. They haven’t secured any off season natty studs but the D line will have enough bodies next year to keep the guys they have fresh. If everyone plays 25-30 snaps they can give max effort on every play and be the best versions of themselves on every down. The last 4-5 games last year they only rotated 3-4 big guys up front, played edge guys in the middle at times to get rest. No depth. They aren’t finished either. Keep stacking size.
-
Lynch looked weak, like he hadn't lifted a weight in his career and played like it. He was only used a little bit as a stand up edge guy, I rarely saw him with his hand on the ground.
-
Originally signed with Georgia, great HS film, hips look exquisite…
-
Lynch will have his first offseason at a D1 school. Will be very interesting what he weighs when fall camp comes around. Lean him out to 275-280 and play him on the edge or thicken him up to 310-315 and move him inside? Time will tell.
-
Pretty accurate to say the portal stuff thus far has been mostly okay but kind of unremarkable and still feels like we need to make more splashes on the OL and DT. The team has more to work with coming back next year which helps.
-
Yes, he definitely looked like he hadn't been hitting the weights hard and often prior to UW and also had 15 lbs of bad weight.
There's also a chance that he stays in the 290 range and turns that 15 lbs of fat into muscle with a full off-season.
-
I think they'll try to keep him on the edge, but big enough to be a 3T on passing downs
-
There’s also the JC DL. Can’t remember his name. I thought he played pretty well against NW? Then he was hurt off and on the rest of the year. Will be interesting what size he is when fall camp starts as he too will have his first offseason in a D1 strength program. Keep stacking big humans on that Dline.

Sign me up for a Mason Foster clone

Bryce Butler, flashed against UCLA (and mysteriously didn't play against Oregon); kid has good power and doesn't get moved around like Bandes did.
-
Yeah, we aren't getting the major roster upgrades we need, especially on the lines. Going to have to be up to the coaches to level them up.
-
Only way that happens is if we have more departures. Just at DT, we have: Sagopolu, Butler, both Parker's, Davis', both Elinneus and Annas, and Khan coming back and have now added Thompson, Pepa and hybrid Uigaleilei, to go along with DT sized Lynch. There's only so many minutes to go around. That's not counting Macon and Caleb Smith as incoming frosh.
At this point there's no more room. OL is similar.
