Mine was in class of ‘96 when we had a commitment from Lester Towns’ teammate Chris McCalister (10 votes “Best in the West”). He did his obligatory visit during a horrible blizzard and promptly switched to Arizona.
That one hurt. I’m not gay or nothing, but that sucked ass.☝️☝️

I was in high school and Lorenzo Booker had a big announcement special that was really long on ESPN. I was foolish and thought he was actually going to UW.
Reggie Bush sucked because for like almost a year every article suggested he was going to UW then Neu fell apart and USC took off. Somehow I think he was only a four star.
Gil Dobie gave me a big fuck-you. That one hurt.
I joined Dawgman just to follow the Lorenzo Booker recruitment. I am still wracked with shame.
Did you get your refund?
I went to the same high school as Terry when Loot offered him some cash to flip to Tucson 30 years ago. I don't have any football recruit memories.
I hated the mariners for drafting Matt Tuiasosopo too early in the draft so he wouldn’t come to UW and be Tui 2.0
Never given a fuck about it except when people I know press me over and over about a local kid that they think is a power conference player even though their grades suck and they only have a tentative offer from WSU.
I would remove the names off the back of the jerseys and wouldn't even let them talk to the media. They're getting paid now + they have an opportunity to put their education to use and not go do Oregon Crayon honors, they can suck a dick about everything else and so can their parents.
fucking Indians!!!!1!!1
I think the Jonathan Stewart class was the first time I really paid attention to recruiting. I do remember being excited about Reggie Williams and Paul Arnold back in the day tho.
I joined for Paul Arnold TBS news. In retrospect that didn't turn out that much better than Booker.
Wow I never knew we had a commit from McCalister. Loved that dude's game.
Matt Tui was gonna lead us to the promised land. Instead another Mariners failure.
Missing out on McAlister cost Lambo and UW dearly.
The refund request, which was denied, came much later. I spoke against the company line on Todd Turner or something, was told I was acting like a Race Bannon minion and was not welcome. My $129, however, was welcome to stay.
It was actually “Fucking Expos”…my former boss drafted him
Steve Schilling. Maybe I was too young and dumb to realize the wheels had already fallen off, but that felt like the canary in the coal mine to me.
I remember when they got big fish like Tommie Smith and Nip and Lincoln Kennedy out of California. Not a lot of talk about misses in Sports Washington
Was hooked in by Rick and Paul Arnold. Lost a few
I didn't care after that because we sucked
Then Petersen and DeBoer made the playoffs with players that were not 5 star locks.
Now I'm just hoping 2027 is special
The worst one for me was the year that Sark couldn't get any of the top instate guys. There was a huge bumper crop in Wa and all of them went somewhere else. I believe UW legacies Josh Garnett and baby Lincoln Kennedy were in that class. Can't remember for sure but I think it was the 2012 signing class.
The late Ron Holmes went to the same high school as Stewart. After he committed to Oregon, Ron asked him what happened. According to Ron, Stewart said he never heard from Willingham.
