Oregon was able to brake free of their retarded state higher Ed board only a few years ago. Since they’re then raised a time if money and executed in some higher capital projects. The tie-in to the HEB was a limiter.
Endowment at the large university level and how that affects undergrads is an interesting discussion. But I’m on my way somewhere so will leave it to another day. One thing I'd say is their in-state aid packages has enabled them to compete for bright in-state kids much more over the last 10 years. Dont forget they are untethered from OHSU in and do t bare the Bridget if that huge capital budget. UW, in contrast, does. So you have to look at the numbers in context. UW is a mid-sized city in its own right.No, you can go to undergrad at any PNW state public and do well. Degrees are not ti keys ti the upper class anymore. You’re kids decisions and behaviors and habits will mean much more than where they went to school. My Brunonian will not likely ever make a lot of money. She’s a heavy duty quant but doesn’t value the brass ring and hates bro culture. Probably will be an academis prowess person professionally. Good thing she will inherit some money.
