The economics of the NBA make no sense to me. Team values and salaries are higher than ever while ratings tank. They must be killing it in the international tv markets.
I'll be damned - Jeff Ruland was an all-star in 1982-83 and average 22 a game the following season. Bill Walton feet doomed him. Perhaps @RaceBannon can expound upon the unrealized potential of Jeff Ruland.
Didn’t even recognize Dan Issel next to Gilmore. Can’t miss Artis, couple interesting coaching names with Brown and former college/pro coach Stan Albeck. - died in 2021 at 89
When the Knicks didn’t make the playoffs he worked in the broadcast and was immediately hired for the nba once fired in NYC. Younger folks will remember him more as a commentator than an actual HC like Madden in 🏈. Believe Brown might be alive, probably not broadcasting although I haven’t watched anything but Bron and Steph during the playoffs the past decade+
He’s 91 and still alive & born in 1933, his folks probably heard our Boys in the boat beat Hitler on a radio broadcast. @YellowSnow

keeping up with the dorky white guy theme. I present you Chuck Nevitt.
Part of the doomed NBA Rookie class of 1986, Roy Tarpley
one of the most alliterative names in NBA history
Dude is the color guy for 76ers broadcasts.
Seems like the right thread for this.

Ratings stayed up as LeBron made 8 straight finals
I'd argue the ratings decline matches the skills decline of James
I looked at this picture and actually knew his first name was Jeff before scrolling to look.
Could just be a 90's white guy thing, though.
