NIL ?

There are players making millions of dollars having close to 70 starts in college. What the hell are we doing?
-
Same thing as always
Pay for play
NIL is just another improvement allegedly
-
Just call it legal hot dog money already.

It is, of course, total bullshit, but this made me laff.

theknowledge dropping the knowledge. I don't trust those numbers completely but some of them make sense.
When does the revenue sharing start? It sure seems like there is one more year of unfettered NIL.
Also, which schools pay for high school recruits and which don't? That may be a separate line item. And UW does not pay for high school recruits or do they?

- Coker made it sound like the revenue sharing was happening now although it very well could be next year. 10-15 million in MF money this year could go a long way to patching this Swiss cheese roster. 5-8 million and we may be looking at another raid of the Big Sky.
- UW doesn’t seem to pay high school recruits. If they did, you’d think they could land a few of those really high end kids they were close on and keep a kid like Ploog. A team like Auburn does spend on HS kids. B2B top 5 classes without a recent track record of winning and a revolving door of coaches. Freese knows he’s got rope. They’ll be very competitive next year assuming they find a QB. That roster is stacked and maturing.

NCAA needs to just pay every player minimum wage and do NIL by the book beyond that then tell the prima donnas to sit out if they don't like it. Make fancy locker rooms a recruiting pitch again
-
There was no reason to spend big this year given what the upside to spending was … keep the powder dry for when it makes sense
The one thing they need to revisit is what it looks like to recruit at the HS level … we probably need to be better here

If they put a 10% surcharge on Tyee tickets could that go to MF?
I want to see how Kafusi does with more resources because he has been sucking lately.

I think it's about time for me to switch and become a Texas fan in this new era of college football.
NFL 2024 salary cap per team is $255,400,000.
Texas is at $135,500,000 and gaining.
