I really don't understand the doubt
Fisch's first full recruiting class is going to be better than Petersen's first full recruiting class
Fisch didn't have a full portal to work with in his Year 1 to mend the gaps in the roster that he inherited
Fisch's track record at Arizona showed significant progress from Year 1 to Year 2 and from Year 2 to Year 3 … he also showed an ability to identify talent and win recruiting battles to get very solid talent to Tucson for football (not easy)
If Fisch isn't able to actively win in the portal or in high school recruiting, it's going to be much more due to the lack of financial commitment of the Athletic Department and the donor base than it will be because he's not cut out for the job.

Yeah no shit. The guy who went from 4-8 to 25-3 wasn't worth keeping so we can pretend that Fisch isn't a moron
And of course if he were any good UW couldn't afford him
Feel the excitement

@Tequilla how the fuck can you set a floor at 8.5, maybe 7.5 and then come back and say you don’t understand the doubt? You just answered the question because that’s not good enough.
fuck stick should’ve had 8 wins this year, maybe 9 with a bowl victory so if you’re floor is 7.5, maybe 8.5, and you don’t have doubt then I don’t know what to say to explain this any differently.
No fucking way this monogram visor wearing tennis fag should not be able to figure it out and get to 10 wins… unless the finances just aren’t there - thanks Race.
If that’s the case then NO ONE will be the guy OR the one that will be the guy will do more with less but it was hard for that guy and he quit - those types don’t grow on trees.
Summing this up as if we don’t have the finances to play we’re fucked.
End of story.
-
If this new guy goes 11-1 next year are you going to be able to afford him? Maybe offer him 8 mil?
-
Is @MonogramVisorWearingTennisFag taken?
-
We can't afford nice things
-
Tequilla is saying that DeBoer couldn't recruit but if Fisch can't recruit its UW's fault not his
But saying that UW fucked the program is a bridge too far
Thankfully we have 2 or three years of 7.5 wins to sort it out
-
By all accounts DeBoer was offered very good money to stay … he wasn't interested
I had conversations with people on the inside of the program before he ever left that there was real concern about getting him extended
The fact of the matter is that he viewed UW as a stepping stone to what he thought was bigger and better …
We'll see how that works out for him
-
That's because people inside the program are retards
-
How can I say that …
Next year's schedule includes home games against Ohio St and Oregon and difficult road games at Michigan and Wisconsin. It's not a given that we step up into the 10+ range with that schedule given our youth. There's also a lot to like on the roster and with the exception of those 4 games I like UW's chances to win the remainder of its games.
UW needed probably everything to go right to win 8 games this year … for everything that you could say about pissing away the Wazzu game (which we did) and the Rutgers game (cross country short-week game was always going to be a coin flip game) you also have to acknowledge that UW probably was fortunate to beat USC.
I want to see what we do in the portal before I begin to really think about what the number for next year is.
The reality is that we're still going to have a very young roster next year and there's some significant growth that needs to be realized this offseason. The good news is that it's very possible to occur given how youth tends to grow and improve.
I've said all along that 2026 was the year that I expect UW to make some big noise with respect to the CFP. I do think that there's an outside chance that UW is in discussion for a spot next year and that Oregon game may be a win and they are in game.
-
That's actually not what I'm saying
Fisch has shown a better ability to recruit than DeBoer given comparable situations. Fisch is at 19th in this year's class whereas DeBoer's 2023 class (his first full year) was 27th.
I don't think that UW has a commitment in its finances to be at the level of the upper upper echelon in CFB … there isn't an Uncle Phil that we know of. There is enough money to compete at a very high level as both 2016 and 2023 have highlighted.
-
DeBoer showed a better ability to win fucking games which is actually why you play the game. Not recruiting rankings
4-8 to 25-3 no excuses no bullshit no wait three years and maybe
-
UW did not need "everything to go right" to win 8 games this year. With out colossal fuckups against WSU and Rutgers, they'd have 8 wins right now.
-
You can’t look at everything that could have flipped for the better without acknowledging things that could have flipped for the worse
The extra 1-2 wins this year really changes nothing big picture
The losses we’ve had have come from very clear and obvious sources
The bitch to just bitch crowd is way too dramatic
-
Keep making excuses Mr Administration Hack
Some of us have kept the standard
DeBoer who sucks turned the program on a dime. That has always been the standard. Those that could not failed like Fisch is going to
-
If Cignetti can win 10 at a doormat school with Jim Madison transfers, it's doable.

So, Race is an insider. Makes sense. Dawg sense.
-
why so pessimistic on Fisch?
There are things to he pessimistic about, and things to be optimistic about.
Instead of LIPO you've seen enough and want to fire him. It's interesting.
-
So far the only real cause for optimism I've seen is his last season at Arizona.
-
1 year out of 5. Shitty losses here. Excuse after excuse
It's not like we don't have 30 years of this shit to learn from
Ask your doog pals why they think 7 wins is good for his first three years. They're telling you he sucks
Hope this helps
-
Don't lump me in with Teq on this. Fisch needs to be in the playoff by year 3 or door ass out
-
- Demond
- Recruiting
- Ability to win at home
-
I’m in the yr three playoff or gone mode. Needs more tim

Year 3
Sure
Then what UW fucks the program again
UW was in the playoffs last year. It played out. It was great.
Whatever but I'm not interested. Show me or fuck off.
-
You’re a senile old man if you think I don’t have standards
Don’t confuse me for understanding what this program has gone through since Petersen resigned and how this was the year we paid for that with somebody that toes the company line and excuses everything …
I do find it amusing how you’re stuck on blaming a laundry list of people that are not tied to this program anymore while you clean up the overflow from sucking off DeBoer
And while we’re on the subject of being ahead of the game here are some things that you don’t have to work hard in verifying …
I openly called out Jimmy Lake when he was DC for his continued flirting of leaving in order to get more control/responsibility and how UW may have been better off if he left … I was skewered at the time for that take … maybe just maybe I was right
While there’s obvious reason to be grateful for what DeBoer did here … I called out prior to him coaching here that there was some sketch with his tenure at Fresno (underlying metrics were good, not great and some massive eggs) … what we are seeing in Bama is much more consistent with what happened to him at Fresno … maybe just maybe DeBoer had a lot of things break right for him at UW and he ran real hot in coin flip situations
We all know Race that digging deep into the detail isn’t your forte compared to popping off with some witty retort that you inevitably contradict yourself on later
-
I’ve said in many places that my expectation is for UW to be in the CFP in 2026
I don’t know how aggressive they will be in the portal this offseason but a CFP run in 2025 is definitely possible
The big unknown is how they are going to balance the rebuild on building from within with the youth growing up vs aggressively supplementing gap areas -
I hate putting absolutes on anything because variables can have massive impacts
You want to see the program continuing to ascent year after year
But if not in the CFP after 2026 … I do think it’s very reasonable to have very frank and honest conversations about what things look like and whether the path is still moving forward
-
The Indiana game was also a winnable game that didn't go "right"
