Like I told @WoolleyDoog about a week or two ago, they are a year or two ahead of the Coug in the case of getting the program gutted and the players finding money elsewhere
agreed. The rearview mirror is hard to look at. If they and Coug at least were given the ACC or B12 life preservers the other shit programs got it would be at least decent. But for BYU to be in a better situation than Coug or Beav seems criminal.
It's sad. They caught bad in the margins of coach leaving, your players can portal, changing conferences, and trying to compete in a modern NIL landscape. They might be able to avoid going back to the abyss of the Pettibone etc years because they'll play in a glorified WAC but they're in really dangerous territory right now.
Oregon State and WSU are long term screwed in my opinion. Major conference affiliation gave them a leg up for players over San Diego St, Boise St, Fresno St, etc. Unfortunately, now that advantage is gone. There isn't anything these schools bring that the others in the new Pac don't. In fact they are hugely disadvantaged as they now have to pitch Corvallis and Pullman over bigger cities like Boise, San Diego, Fresno, and Fort Collins (an hour from Denver).
Yeah, maybe. Fresno is kind of isolated in the middle of California. But there's still way more stuff to do there than in Corvallis or Pullman. But I concede a little there.
It’s funny they won the conference with one conference win. The demise of the PAC is sad, same with OSU. I have a half-share of sympathy for WSU and a little joy when their fans get dream crushed two weeks in a row believing they had a chance at the 12 playoff. (Pouring the beer gif)
IMO they both deserve a home in the Big 12 because that conference is mostly bad/average. It’s crazy how cal vs Stanford was big Atlantic coast Conference.
I’m enjoying the musical chairs with top 12 teams each week or much more than I expected.

There have been days when I’ve dreamed about this happening to them but in real life practice it feels cruel and unusual.

they’re another offseason off losing what little talent they have to greener pastures away before it’s back to 1-11 seasons
Smiff completely abandoned that sinking ship. Justified and hugely disloyal.
And he jumped onto second sinking ship, the USS Sparty!
but at least there the sinking or floating will be up to him.

I think they win the Fresno battle but the point still stands.

I hate BYU, a lot, but unfortunately those weirdos have fans. Enough to drive ratings, ticket sales and money.
Cuog and Beav stadiums did not show they had comparable.
