I wish Debore would have stayed. But I just don’t get the take that if UW offered more he would have stayed. If he wanted a better offer he would have countered. You never ever fail to counter if you’re interested in selling or buying anything. UW offers 8, then counter at 18. You don’t just say let’s wait. . They could have offered 15 and he would have let’s wait and then took it to Bama.
Tom Brady could have actually retired when Gisele told him to and she still would have ended up fucking her Karate instructor.

At least from my perspective, you want to see the full effort, even if it didn't entice him to stay. The UW athletic department ran their "All you all in?" campaign toward their donors and if they're going to do that you want to see them act like they're all in too.

Why do people pretend to know what happened between his camp and UW's, let alone pretend to know someone's mind? You're just making shit up; it's straight copium. Us halfbrains don't have insight on the process so we are naturally outcome focused.
Given the AD who did the negotiations bailed in a hurry I think it is fair to question the process since we know the outcome.

I don't agree with all fronts but did pop into my head I know our friend Race was saying we should have offered DeBoer the moon after the first Oregon win in 2023 and it's unclear if they did. I had some pushback to that but knowing where the program is now, it would have been the move. Especially building off the year before of winning at Oregon, Apple Cup road blowout, and basically a road win against Texas. Enough was there. Especially since all of those games weren't fluky at all.
I also had DeBoer bitching about it taking him 57 minutes just to drive across the lake and get home from the office in my head too though. I would bet he really wasn't a happy cultural fit in Seattle.
