I like to think I made @dirtysouwfdawg’s day by texting him this twat yesterday.
you were one of two bright spots in my day. Pun unintended.
deserves its own thread.
Building up that LB depth
Well there's some good news. With House, ZRS, and Lugolobi, the LB unit's future is looking good. Lugolobi kind of reminds me of Azeem Victor, he's an inch or two shorter but still a very good blend of length, athleticism, instincts, and physical mentality.
Are we back to being a developer of 3-star recruits program?
The 26 kids haven’t received their star bumps yet. Sanoe and Lugolobi will end up getting bumps. Both are very nice prospects.
2026 in state class seems pretty decent. 4* DE Derek Coleman Brusa 6'4" 230 Offers: UW, Oregon, TOSU, Michigan, Tennessee and USC UW crystal dong 3* DE David Schwerzel 6'4" 255 Offers: UW, Michigan State, UCLA, Michigan, Pedo, Miami Fl 3* Ath Terrance Saryon 5'10" 160 Offers: UW, Oregon, Illinois, Cal Oregon Commit 3* LB Wassie Logalobi 6'2" 215 Offers: UW, ASU, Louisville, Colorado, Tennessee UW commit 3* CB Elijiah Durr 6'1" 170 Offers: UW, ASU, Illinois, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Arizona 3* DE Femietau Siale 6'4" 250 Offers: UW, Oregon, fsu, Miami Fl, Michigan st, Pedo, Utah This kid dropped from #2 in state to #6. Looks like he might be a candidate to move inside. I'm guessing as DE he was sought after but he hasn't developed. Roughly Same size as Levi was coming out of HS. 3* Ath Asa Thompson 5'11" 181 Offers: UW, Oregon, Louisville, ASU 3* LB Tau Mareko 6'1" 215 Offers: UW, Boise 3* CB Jasiah Denmark 6' 160 Offers: UW, Pedo, Boise 3* OT Kingston Kirkhoff 6'6" 255 Offers: Michigan State, Cal, ASU 3* TE Jack Seivers 6'4" 205 Offers: Cal, Wazzu, Wisconsin This kid is the same size as Jack Velling when Smith recruited him out of Washington State to play for the Beavs. Second team all P12 last year. With PooPoo’s inability to recruit I expect us to offer late after all the out of state guys tell him to fuck off. UW could get over 1/3 of their class from in state. These are good offer sheets. Not sure I've seen the state as deep as this since 2022? when UW struck out on all the Offensive lineman.
I saw Siale play in-person and I'm not sure he has the athleticism to stay at DE at the next level. I think you're right that he moves inside and is a 3 tech. Though it was tough to tell, he may be more like 6'3" too.
what’s interesting about the 2026 in-state class list is that there’s a lot of depth at positions of need for that class … notably EDGE
Ploog really passed on a chance that for his final game as a senior in college he could be on the video board as a World of Warcraft character doing stuff that will be so cringe that I'll either be covering my eyes or finding another excuse to go back and get my 6th gameday gold lager? Am I reading this right?
Nothing about how our new basketball coach can go out and get a top 50 high school PG in the country that was demanding NIL?
Money wasn't an isn't an issue.
This is from a Twitter guy but I've heard the basketball program has a random whale type who is willing to spend a lot of money on players and it's easier in basketball because you need to bag out a smaller amount than football.
It's less than the cost of football but you still need a lot more money per player, and they have a lot more options than 1 year of college and so it seems like they're pretty hard to recruit, especially to a dead carcass basketball program that can only say "well we've cut the ribbon on a new training facility but that's it".
Plus, people on Twitter saying this shit; it was known with GO that there was prior money put aside that was used. This is a brand new recruit, and one out of high school at that, that had a bunch of other offers from schools with a lot more success.
If you pay each starter in b-ball $1.5 million, that's $7.5 million.
Contrast that with football where a top 10 roster probably costs $20 million and next year (after the House Settlement), it will cost $22 million from the school and at least $10 million from NIL / booster clubs.
Football inherently has more injuries so that increases the costs as well.
and again, this is Twitter hearsay but apparently the booster I think doesn't have much connection to the school and just is in Seattle and likes basketball and views it as close as buying an NBA as you're going to get. Who gives a shit about college basketball and basketball in general anymore to me, but I also assume it's a lot easier to manage than an entire football team/program.
I wonder if it's Ballmer. He loves b-ball.
Andrew marsch, ishigan WR commit who had everyone wondering why the fuck he committed there, is visiting this weekend.
Probably trying to secure an increase on his bag. Kudos to him.
nah, it's @sonics1993 or @Sonics1994
You mean Detlef?
Marsh reminds me of a better Kalen Williams. He would be a very big get.
Who is Kalen Williams? (I know who you mean btw)
Kalen DeWilliams
3* OT Kingston Kirkhoff’s dad is a pretty big UW fan (I worked with him). If he gets offered, I think he commits.
@dirtysouwfdawg definitely appreciates.
