Cats can be walked just like dogs. It takes a different kind of training patience. Instead of pulling like dogs, they typically plop. You have to pull them. More like a little 'here here' yank with treats. You don't want to rip their head off. That would defeat the whole purpose.
This is what cat training is. You have to trust the process. You have to let it breathe. Cats love to be bossed around if you give it a chance.
