Demond Should Start

the season is basically over, gonna be real hard to even get to 6 wins with the current state of the O line. You should just take the next 5 games to find out if demond is the guy, because if he isn’t you better get a portal QB.

Rogers didn't have it today but he did last week and it was a big win. I don't think you can do him that dirty.
-
Rogers tried to fuck up the Michigan game
Fuck him. The future is now
-
Williams converted a 4th and goal
I'm convinced
-
If McCree is out for the season, they should try Tafai at LT. Faasolo got abused (and Azzopardi had a subpar game).
-
Faasolo needs to lose 30 pounds
-
Rogers is not accurate when we reach the red zone. There were so many times that he missed the receiver with a bad throw. I don't mind seeing Demond plays at least 1/4 to 1/2 time.
-
I don’t think we owe Will Rogers anything, offer him a spot as a GA if you want but he’s getting his NIL dollars, he’s already played more college football than anyone, and he’s not good enough to where you say “that guy has to play”. I’m not even sure he gives us a better chance to win given the current state of the O line, at least demond can run and deliver a semi accurate ball on the move.
-
I don't think Demond would end up playing that much better than Rogers. But might be worth it.
Rogers is worthless when he leaves the pocket and he mostly sucks in the red zone.
-
It's not that we know or think Demond is better than Rogers, it's more we need to find out if he's the guy or not for next year, otherwise, we need to pick someone up from the portal.
-
exactly. The way we’ve used Demond is more of like a change of pace running back, it’s to run different plays and make the defense think about something else, and it’s mostly been successful, it we need to see what he can do behind the wheel of the whole offense.
-
tbh, tsio, may as well get him reps now.
-
Rogers will beat the Cali schools at home. I'm personally still interested in beating everyone on schedule. What games are unwinnable? Oregon is the only one for sure and penn state will be unlikely. I would still rather go 8-4 or 7-5 and see some compete going into next year and I don't think that's doogish
-
I'm not of the "fuck him" philosophy when it comes to Rogers. But his scrotum tightens up when we reach the red zone, and the whole offense follows his lead. Its palpable. He'll always have Michigan as a sweet memory. But the time for Williams is NOW. The kid has moxie.
-
I don't think Fisch would pressure to start Demond, he can just increase his playing time or "go with the hot hand," etc.
Demond is 26/33 79% for 242 yards 2 TD and 0 INT this year.
22 carries for 133 yards, 6 ypc.
He's already pretty productive and it's easy to see his role growing.
-
Even if they don't win any more games this year?
-
Would be nice if Demond grew a couple of inches over the summer, and I’m talking about height.
-
We might not win another game with Rogers, fren
UCLA will be greased up
-
Not losing at home with Rodgers. Bowl game can be Demonds
-
Fish should maybe start with 1 QB….and stick with 1 QB the whole game
-
I’m too emotionally detached from this team to give a fuck about the rest of the season. It’s really a bummer. Looking forward to one time of the year, as the only thing I have to look forward to, and to have them suck so much ass is really deflating. So, just detach. It’s what I’ve done in my marriage and it’s worked well.
-
I feel that but also realize that each game they win will have some fun left. SC is GETTABLE
-
I still haven’t seen anything from Demond in the passing game that looks super promising. I’d like to see him get an entire half at some point just to see what he looks like with the full set of downs and whole playbook.
-
He overthrows everything that's more than 10 yards downfield.
-
wow, can’t like this, looser approach dude. You cant win a Natty every year, we’ve had more luck than most. Make the best out of what you have, they’ll be back(2026 will be special).
If your wife had your approach she would trade you in for a bigger-dick gunslinger -
going into the bye week, good time to make the switch.
-
I'd give Rogers 70% of the snaps and Demond 30%. Demond should take over in the red zone, because Rogers panick scrambles every play in the red zone and throws duds there.
Demond still needs to gain 15 pounds or he won't last long as a full-time starter.
Other transfer QBs will look at Rogers getting potentially benched by Fisch and say "no thanks, next".
UW will need to get a backup QB next year in the portal. -
Well said
-
I said it in the game thread, but there's a new politics in college football that really ties a coach's hands behind his back. You bring in a super senior transfer QB from the portal, he'd better play. If he doesn't, good luck getting the next transfer QB. Every other team shopping that market can then use that against you: "Look what Fisch did to Rogers. Totally left him out hanging. I wouldn't do that to you. You're our guy."
On the other hand, Fisch has to worry about his freshman backup bolting for greener pastures, too. It's either give Williams enough snaps to feel like he's the face of the program or he leaves. Make Rogers The Guy or he leaves. It's hard to do both and have any kind of continuity on that side of the ball. College football sucks the biggest balls now. I'm about to quit it like I did college basketball a decade or so ago.
-
This bored is soft. As a coach, you don’t worry about perception and ‘what if’s’
I’m sure Fisch had a convo with Roger’s on day one that his spot is not guaranteed, we play to win the game and I’m going with whomever gives us the best chance. You attract winners that way, the entitled pusses that think it’s owed to them…..LEAVE

Demond isnt good enough to beat the guy as a freshman and should be fine riding the bench for a year like 99% of true freshman out there
