Stooges/Iggy Pop
Oh hell no. Iggy Pop destroys the Nuge!!
Now I wanna be your DWAG!!
-
Bob Seger
Seger is an American icon but most of you are too young
Nobody on this list has his discography
-
Stooges/Iggy Pop
I could have voted for Bob. I'm just in a proto punk mood this morning.
I'll probably change my mind this afternoon.
-
Alice Cooper
Alice Cooper created a new genre of rock.
Never heard of MC5. I listened to a song. It was okay. The singer looks like Tom Jones. Pretty hilarious.
-
Bob Seger
In the White Privilege division, Seger.
The Michigan Bruthas poll will be much more chinteresting
-
Bob Seger
Woke last night to the sound of thunder….
-
Bob Seger
Night Moves = hand jobs
-
Stooges/Iggy Pop
I don't really care for any of them.
-
Stooges/Iggy Pop
Michigan (or any state for that matter) can't compete with California for domestic rock and roll.
-
Stooges/Iggy Pop
Patience darling.
-
The White Stripes
White Stripes, and quasi side project The Raconteurs. Saw the Raconteurs at Coachella back in 08. Good set.
-
Grand Funk Railroad
Bob has several votes, and I have always considered Alice to be from AZ. Grand Funk was (is) highly underrated IMO, and much more than “We’re an American Band”…
-
Bob Seger
voted for Seger but listening to deep tracks today they played Grand Funk and mentioned they came from this group
another old Detroit band for the old guys
-
Bob Seger
Grand Funk was my first concert. 10th grade. Mom drove me and my friends
I'm your captain yeah yeah yeah
-
Stooges/Iggy Pop
They were a GOOD American Band.
-
Bob Seger
They're coming to your town
Gonna party it down
-
Stooges/Iggy Pop
Todd Rundren's production worked wonders for their sound.
-
Bob Seger
Are you going to do this for Iowa?
Looks like Slipnot, The Everly Brothers or abstain/vote under protest.
-
The White Stripes
Love the White Stripes.
-
Stooges/Iggy Pop
I own a lot of great LPs by rock band from circa 2008- 2020 but a lot of this stuff is pretty niche.
To me The White Stripes are kind of the last great, legendary rock group.
-
Alice Cooper
Because of their specific style of rock, or…?
-
Stooges/Iggy Pop
Muse make my ears hurt.
-
The White Stripes
Also saw them in 2008 and came here to write them in. Good chit, fren.
-
Alice Cooper
I thought we were talking White Stripes, but I'm gonna assume you're more of a Radiohead guy. I never understood the early years comp of Muse being a newer Radiohead, mostly because Muse are actually talented and play actual rock music.
White Stripes have a handful of songs I like, but I always thought they were overrated. The drummer is pure twash and their sound didn't really evolve. They fit really well during the 2000's, but I think of them as a band that is relegated to the era of people shopping at Urban Outfitters. Some for The Raconteurs which makes sense given Jack White. Personally, I think the Indy rock revival era is mostly forgettable.
-
Stooges/Iggy Pop
I was making a joke about Muse as mentioned in another thread.
I like a bit of Radiohead but never got than much into them.
My favorite rock is rooted more in blues, country, souls, etc so I tend to favor this stuff over more technically proficient progressive or shredding.
Meg White sucks but Jack wrote a lot of kick ass songs in the early 2000s.
And as the biggest dickus hi fi guy here you can't lump me in with Urban Outfitter douches canoes.

The White Stripes
Muse is emo rock.
-
Stooges/Iggy Pop
Yeah. Fuck those emo fags !
-
Alice Cooper
Not at all. Emo, aka screamo, is stuff like Killswitch Engage or Bullet for My Valentine.
-
The White Stripes
This is really the only song of theirs I know and it’s whiny emo music
