Washington makes emphatic Big Ten debut thumping Northwestern 24-5

Without looking I am going to guess that UW has never held a team to exactly 5 points in the era since a TD became 6 points

Like the @SweatpantsGeneral texted me after the game, it is hard to define what we just saw. Did we thump Northwestern? It didn't feel like it, however the outcome was never in doubt. NW's offense was like the keystone cops, and yet our defense did a great job.
I agree with getting Demond some snaps but the times he is called upon are stupid.

first place all time B1G conference games in winning percentage

Race was there!

UW surpasses the greats to become the all time BIG leader in winning %

DAWGS beat the spread

Also saw that UW beat Stanford 8 to 5 in the 30s

Fuck you, Whitworth.

Observations:
- Get rid of the bubble screens.
- Instead of bubble screens, get Coleman more involved as an outlet in the passing game.
- Abuse throwing to Latu and Boston until other teams stop it. Latu should be getting far more targets on 1st downs.
- Make Muhammed the second back, he's better than Davis.
- Please stop running dives on 1st and 10 in your opponents territory when you've just chunked 40 yards in 3 plays.
- Let Williams throw the ball if you're going to play him, otherwise don't.
- Spend an hour each day this week practicing snaps cause holy shit.
- Get a new punter. UW's punter cost them 100 yards yesterday.
-
Davis is good. He had some hard runs yesterday. Not sure why this forum can't see those plays
-
I don't think Davis is a bad back.
I think Coleman and Muhammed are better. A matter of playing your best players vs Davis actually being bad.
I wish he had any vision. He just runs straight into defenders. -
a boring game
-
I had that thought about Muhammad, but I'm guessing that Fisch thinks he might lose the locker room if he replaces Davis too soon. Just a hunch.

Chuckled with Joey at the game it felt like a game where plays that never happen for UW all happened like Rogers fumbling the snap and then getting a very long run as a non running QB. The guy running down the kick returner at the two and it actually paying off. Punt takes a weird bounce so Boston gets a big return. The team kicks the FG at the goal line instead of going for it. It just felt like with Petersen and DeBoer years everything had to be so fucking earned.
By the way, the officials seemed like they didn't want to throw flags. A lot of potential holding calls on NW and defensive PI. Lack of flags on returns. I have zero stats to back this up but I feel like it was when I would watch other conferences and be like it's nice to not have there be a flag every other play like the Pac-12. Just sayin. I'm sure I won't appreciate it when Michigan's OL is bear hugging and yanking guys again.

Northwestern’s only hope was to hold the receivers. It was pretty glaring. And on the long TD pass to Boston, they could’ve called PI on NW.

The special teams coverage units are dog shit. PooPoo needs to get his reads down as the coordinator.

Shaw got away with a couple holds
