Dino media still thinks people watch debates and take notes or keep score during the debate. The only people doing that are either 60+ or are already partisan and hoping to witness something like Biden saying, "We beat medicare!" in real time. Normies are watching the highlights on a good day which they get directly from the internet after the fact instead of listening to Don Lemon wax poetic on what he thinks Donald Trump meant on cable TV.
Trump is the most meme-able politician ever for better or worse. All the pre-programmed soundbites they want to serve up don't have a 1/10th of the cultural power as just one of his on-camera moments. The gen Z kids can sniff astroturf out pretty well too, they've grown up with it, no amount of paying influencers to do the coconut dance will change that.
