Was he on the radar
Had he been in trouble
Did he have social media presence
Did he make threats that were ignored
Was he a student
How did he get access to weapons
Let's start with those because we may find out he (or she) was a trans kid who resented white kids with "privilege"

Actually, the leading cause of death of children in the US is motor vehicle deaths. Fentanyl is killing a 100,000 Americans a year and the dazzler could give a sh*t. My high school had a gun range and kids brought their match rifles to school on the bus. Kids brought shot guns to school in their cars and then went pheasant hunting after school in the fall when pheasants were plentiful in the Willamette Valley. Guns weren't a problem then. Something has changed in our culture and we know what it is. But, disarming honest non-criminal Americans is not the solution. Disarming and punishing criminals is. Multiple arrests of gang bangers with felonies and in possession of a stolen guns results in minimal punishment in blue jurisdictions. But Team Dazzler isn't interested in disarming criminal gangs. They are interested in disarming you.

actually, the leading cause of death of “children” is firearms. And that is the headline that the media likes. But parsing the data tells a different story. First, in the cited stat, children are defined as 0 to 19 years old. Up to age 12 not many kids die from any cause and of those who do die, firearms are down the list. So the real stat re: firearms pertains to teenagers. As one would expect, more teens die from all causes than little kids. Firearms does take the #1 cause of death spot for teens, and in numbers that when 0-12 kids are added to teens, the firearms deaths of teen skews all age cause of death to firearms.
The teen deaths can be parsed even further. Mostly male, mostly suicide. Of homicides, further parse the data by race.
Draw what ever conclusions you want, but to me a picture comes into focus.

And what does that focus tell you? Make disarming law abiding American your top priority? How about focusing on disarming criminals and putting them in jail like Rudy did in NYC.

Jefferson Maldenado, a 31-year-old migrant from Ecuador, has been arrested in New York City five times since arriving in the US earlier this year.
His latest bust was for stealing a pair of pants and a beer from the Target near Herald Square.
Asked why he committed the crime, the migrant thief said, "I wanted to change my clothes and think.
"I wanted to sit down and think about my life, about what to do. Because this is not a normal world."
He was just one of five migrants in a Manhattan courtroom for arraignment one night last week.
Across New York, recently arrived migrants are flooding the criminal justice system -- at far higher rates than public officials have acknowledged.
Police sources shared with The Post a staggering estimate that as many as 75% of the people they've been arresting in Midtown Manhattan in recent months for crimes like assault, robbery and domestic violence are migrants. In parts of Queens, the figure is more than 60%, sources there estimate.
On any given day, Big Apple criminal court dockets are packed with asylum seekers who have run afoul of the law.
The problem is made much worse by sanctuary city laws that mean New York cops aren't allowed to work with ICE on cases in which they believe suspects are in the country illegally. Additionally, the NYPD says it is barred from tracking the immigration status of offenders.
This makes it almost impossible for authorities to get their arms around the problem, experts and sources on the ground say.
"New York City eliminated a tool to get rid of violent criminals. What a mess," Jim Quinn, a veteran former prosecutor at the Queens District Attorney's Office, told The Post.
"The sanctuary city law is pathetic. It's disgusting. It's crazy."
Making matters worse, police sources say, word has gotten out in the shelters about the city's lax bail guidelines -- meaning migrants know they're going to get kicked back onto the street quickly after they're nabbed.

And that is precisely the point. If you're looking around and feeling like everything is crazy right now, that's because everything is crazy right now. It's not your imagination. We are at critical mass, and the powers-that-be want it that way.
That's what the Occupy Wall Street movement was about. That's what the Summer o' BLM was about. That's what the Hamas protests are about. That's why the Democrats refuse to address the open border.
Disruption is the goal. Chaos is the vehicle.

the leading cause of death for children(1-17) is accidents(falls, drowning, auto etc etc)
Gun violence as the cause of death in children has increased sharply in the last 4 years, under the Biden administration, but it is not the leading cause of death.
