Woman being trailed in Grand Canyon

My experience is probably atypical but every solo female hiker Ive crossed paths with in the wilderness recently has been dying for it. I don't know what it is but I'm starting to feel like a goddamn object out there.
-
Im sus… this feels staged
I may be naive on this because Ive never run into a solo female hiker. EVER... and I have spent a lot of time on remote trails in the wilderness.
How many female solo hikers are there that would go out into the wilderness completely unaware and not be wielding pepper spray the second that guy got close...and then post it online afterwards?

Don't hate him because you can't date him

I've spent a lot of time and miles hiking and backpacking in the Cascades and Yosemite. I've never seen a solo female hiker. My wife's boss went on a solo run in the Metolius area just outside of Camp Sherman in the 1970s and was raped and murdered. Any woman going solo better have a gun and know how to use it. Ern at best is delusional.
-
In South Korea there is a cottage industry of solo women going out into nature and recording camping videos. I shake my head in amazement because I would fear for their safety if done in America.
-
I'm cracking up at this fear fetish.
There's solo women out on the trails everywhere. I've crossed paths with thousands and made small talk with hundreds, often when I myself am solo. Got a wild story about meeting my dream girl, both of us solo, on the PCT two weeks ago and helping each other ford Adams Creek. She slipped on the first log and got dunked. We saved eachother's life by making sure the other didn't die and then we continued in our respective directions without any rape or murder involved.
There's nothing ever unusual about it, they aren't packing heat, and y'all believe the darndest things.
Also long sleeves and pants are classic desert attire @pawz. I look like the Unabomber in my lightweight hoodie out in the desert, as does anyone who knows what they're doin. The less skin exposed to the sun, the better.
Y'all need to get out more. Happy trails!
-
holy fuck. This would deter trail rape.
-
Desert attire is usually tan/khaki. Dude is wearing black.
.
-
That's fair.
This video is retarded, that's for sure. I think I understand the message it's trying to portray but it's cringe AF.
-
I run my own hiking hobby board…..
-
I met thousands of women on the trail while deployed in Afghanistan
-
Didn't we speak about this on Discord at one point or am I making up memories?
-
I don't think the subject is the local park playground.

You’re pals with this actual anti-Semite?

Here's a sweet picture of Big Ern tying his shoe two weeks ago.
-
Big ern isn't tying his shoe in that picture, it appears the person kneeling is looking upwards or through a camera at the Jason Voorhees hockey mask snow formation on the mountain
-
I should have said it was a pic during the shoe tying process. Mah bad
-
Nobody believes you.
-
That's the hope obvi. Wouldn't pretend to care otherwise.

Here's the torrent that my latest solo female victim nearly died in. The flow was way heavier than this, but this solo female caught her feet after getting dunked and stood tall in the face of adversity. This 10/10 solo female was strong. I'll never forget her.
-
Ok, I'm not going to beat you up over that ...haha, from the picture that looks like Mt Adams.. "2 weeks ago" did you move back to Washington from Nevada?, or were you there on a visit?
Also you said "thousands of solo females" ...if you took a hike every weekend" (not the greenbelt trail out side your subdivision) it would take almost 20 years of weekend hike2 to come across 1000 solo hikers 1 per trip...Are you just being hyperbolic or literal. My experience has been quite the opposite.
The premise of the OP is the woman left the parking lot solo, (not unheard of) and was far away from other people and lost her keys somewhere in-between and was running further toward wilderness/ edge of the grand canyon.. the grand canyon is a very busy place especially from the parking areas...she should have circled back towards people insead of further away into seclusion.
Given there are many unknown variables but the guy knew her car and must have seen her exit and then drop her keys, why wouldn't he yell "Your keys, Hey your keys!" when she dropped them?
All Im saying, with what we are given in the video, things just don't seem logical to me as to the order of events.
And yes, I live in the high desert. Naive people (women especially) sightseeing don't bring proper equipment but they usually don't venture into areas they aren't familiar with alone.
-
I was in the GC last May. I don't remember seeing any solo women. By the way, bring some O2 hiking back up.
-
Yes, Adams. I was up in WA and Oregon for a few weeks.
Not being hyperbolic. I've been hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking since I was in the womb. There's genuinely solo women on trails everywhere. Tons around Tahoe down here.
And that video is staged, of course. I thought that was clear right away. Based on her other videos, that's her SO. It's a cringy PSA vid.
