Alvin Bragg’s DA office has dismissed the charges brought against two-thirds of the Columbia rioters:

Nearly all the protesters charged with storming and occupying Columbia University’s campus during heated anti-Israel demonstrations won’t face criminal charges, Manhattan prosecutors announced Thursday — drawing outrage from law enforcement and Jewish advocates.

District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office dismissed cases against 31 of 46 people charged with trespassing in the Ivy League school’s Hamilton Hall after a dramatic April 30 NYPD raid rounded up protesters on the Morningside Heights campus.

Why did the DA dismiss the charges?

Prosecutors largely cited lack of evidence, such as security video footage, that could tie the students or staff to the building takeover for leaving them free and clear without even a slap on the wrist.

There was a lack of security camera footage because the rioters covered up the cameras. But video footage existed, had the prosecutors wanted to use it:

Also, of they were arrested inside the building and charged with trespassing, I don’t know what video would be necessary. Does the Manhattan DA no longer call police officers to testify as to their arrests?

In a final insult to common sense, prosecutors pointed out that the rioters wore masks, “making it difficult to point out the specific antics of each individual.” So if you are a criminal in Manhattan, all you need to do is disable security cameras and wear a mask, and you are home free even if you are caught in the act. Ridiculous.

The DA’s action is a deliberate signal to violent anti-Semites that they should keep it up.

Is it too much to say that a civil war is already under way? Leftists weaponize illegal immigrants, anti-Semitic rioters and criminals against the rest of us, lowering our standard of living and sometimes killing us. Major elements of the establishment are doing this on purpose: they are in favor of crime, in favor of illegal immigration, in favor of rioting against Jews, law enforcement, oil companies, or whatever. They do not take the actions they do because they think they are making the country better. On the contrary, they know that their actions make life worse for the vast majority of Americans. That is their goal. So far, the majority has not even begun to respond adequately.
